“L, l, large, large, continent?”
Standing inside the spacecraft, Luo Feng stared at the boundless continent floating in the distant starry sky, his eyes wide with astonishment.
He had seen far too many celestial bodies such as planets, stars and nebulae while wandering through the universe. Even if he occasionally saw the wreckage of a spacecraft or encountered a living star beast, Luo Feng would not be surprised. But seeing an enormous continent floating in the starry sky was truly shocking!
This was not the Virtual Universe. This was reality!
“How big is it?” Luo Feng secretly clicked his tongue.
The stars and planets beside this enormous continent floating in the starry sky were practically as tiny as sesame seeds! Even as the spacecraft continuously flew towards it, after flying for quite some time, the continent still seemed just as distant.
“It is tens of millions of times larger than any planet I’ve ever seen. It is enormous.” Luo Feng held his breath.
“Your Highness, what do you think of the company’s headquarters in the entire universe?” the thin old man beside him asked with a smile.
Luo Feng asked doubtfully, “How big is the headquarters?”
“How big?”
The thin old man shook his head. “If you don’t enter the dark universe through universe traversal and instead rely on a spacecraft to fly from one side of the headquarters to the other, it would take at least several decades.”
“You mean…” Luo Feng was shocked. “Its diameter is around dozens of light years?”
One light year was slightly more than 90 quadrillion kilometres.
Earth’s diameter was only a little over 10,000 kilometres.
No wonder the stars and planets in the distance looked like sesame seeds. This continent floating in the universe was truly ridiculously enormous.
“Hmm.” The silver-haired, thin old man nodded.
“Where did such a huge landmass come from?” Luo Feng could not help asking. “Could something this large form naturally in the universe?” Although the universe was mysterious and contained many miraculous places, the birth of a continent with a diameter of dozens of light years was still too incredible.
“I don’t know.” The thin old man shook his head.
Luo Feng did not ask any further.
……
Although his eyes could see the vast continent in the distant starry sky, it still took approximately thirteen hours for the F-grade spacecraft travelling at close to the speed of light to reach one of the entrances to the Virtual Universe Company’s headquarters in the entire universe. Along the way, Luo Feng felt that the entire continent had been built with breathtaking beauty.
At first glance, everything seemed to be natural scenery created by the universe, but as the spacecraft entered the continent, Luo Feng could still sense the advanced technology hidden behind this ‘natural’ appearance.
“Your Highness, those stars, planets, meteorites and other celestial bodies surrounding the headquarters continent are actually extremely terrifying technological weapons,” the thin old man explained inside the luxurious hall of the spacecraft.
“Oh?” Luo Feng nodded. “With the company’s capabilities, those stars and planets really are like toys that can be manipulated at will.”
Even Immortal experts could toy with stars.
With the incredible technological capabilities of the Virtual Universe Company, since even a World Lord could tell that those modified stars and planets were weapons, they were probably merely decorations. How could the true defensive trump cards of the Virtual Universe Company’s headquarters be so simple?
Whoosh!
The spacecraft flew at sub-light speed through the entrance passage of the continent for several minutes before finally slowing down and coming to a stop.
Luo Feng flew out of the cabin together with World Lord Sha Wu and the others.
More than ten men and women wearing uniforms were waiting outside. When Luo Feng arrived, the leader among them, a man with blue horns and silver battle armour, stepped forward and said somewhat respectfully, “Your Highness Luo Feng, I have been ordered by a Venerable to wait here. Please follow me.”
“Hmm.” Luo Feng nodded.
“Sha Wu, thank you.” Luo Feng turned back and looked at the thin old man.
World Lord Sha Wu smiled. “It was my honour to accompany Your Highness for three years.”
After that, the two went their separate ways.
Luo Feng walked along the dreamlike corridor with the silver-armoured, blue-horned man and the others. The latter half of the corridor was transparent, allowing one to see the beautiful starry sky outside, as well as some mountainous scenery in the surroundings.
“Your Highness Luo Feng, Your Highness Luo Feng.”
Three people were already waiting ahead in the corridor.
“Hmm?” Luo Feng looked at them doubtfully.
“Your Highness, these are the items you purchased. As you requested at the time, they are being delivered here at the headquarters.”
The three people immediately presented the items.
Because Luo Feng had spent the three-year journey travelling through the dark universe, and had spent those three years cultivating in the ‘Virtual Universe’, he had not requested immediate delivery when he used his points to exchange for the ‘Shadow Gold Blade’, ‘Absolute Sky Shield’, ‘Life Fruits’ and ‘Lan Ke Fruits’. The Cloud Contact Vine still had food reserves anyway, so he had arranged for everything to be delivered at the headquarters at the end of the journey.
Of course, a secret technique such as the 《Shadow Codex》 had naturally already been learned in the Virtual Universe.
“Hehe, thanks.”
After Luo Feng opened the items and checked them, he directly stored them in his spatial ring.
……
In only a moment, Luo Feng was brought into an elliptical hall. The entire hall, including the ceiling, was transparent. Looking up, one could see the boundless starry sky. Looking into the distance, one could see the beautiful scenery of the headquarters, as well as various spacecraft and even Immortal beings flying past like shooting stars.
“Luo Feng.”
“Madman, you’re here.”
“Haha, Madman.”
As soon as Luo Feng entered, he immediately received a warm welcome from many people.
“Long Yun, Uka, Jiang Mo.”
Luo Feng smiled and greeted them one by one. During their three years of bitter cultivation in Rainshower Mountain, the young people who had entered at the same time had naturally communicated quite a lot. Over the past three years, apart from a very small number of extremely solitary people, most of them had become friends, or at least could chat and laugh together.
Perhaps many of them had been very arrogant in the past, but their arrogance came from loneliness. They had simply never encountered outstanding opponents at the same level.
Those who could enter the top 1,000 of the Genius Battle across the entire universe at least acknowledged each other’s strength, so forming friendships was perfectly normal.
“Rong Jun isn’t here yet?” Luo Feng looked around.
“He’ll be here soon. He’s already almost inside the headquarters,” the Manka Star youth Uka said casually with a smile. “Come, sit over here.”
“Hmm.”
Since they were all in the Primal Zone, the eight members of the Primal Zone generally stayed close to one another. The seating arrangement in the hall made it obvious. The 1,000 people had already naturally formed various circles.
“Bolan.”
Luo Feng saw the white-robed young man sitting beside the window and called out with a smile.
The white-robed young man turned his head and glanced at him. “Hmm.”
He only responded before turning back and silently looking at the scenery outside. During these three years in Rainshower Mountain, the ‘Death God’ Bolan had remained extremely solitary. He had only maintained some contact with a dozen or so people and rarely spoke. However, after interacting with him, Luo Feng and the others discovered that although Bolan was cold and solitary, he was actually a decent person.
“Those few from the Primal Zone seem pretty arrogant. They often stick around Bolan, as if they think they’re so much stronger than us.”
“Exactly. Back then, when we broke into the top 100, the Virtual Universe system directly selected 20 of us to compete for the top ten. It didn’t even give us a chance.”
“And it’s already been three years. Everyone from our Heaven and Earth Zone has improved during these three years. Some have improved tremendously. I’m afraid quite a few of us are now stronger than those from the Primal Zone.”
“Just wait. There’ll be opportunities for competition anyway.”
On the other side, more than ten young people used origin force to block their voices as they chatted among themselves.
They were unconvinced.
When the Virtual Universe system had directly selected people to participate in the final competition back then, it had already caused many geniuses to feel dissatisfied. Moreover, everyone had improved considerably over the past three years. In particular, some of those who had previously lacked good secret techniques had exchanged for secret techniques suited to themselves during these three years and improved tremendously. They were even more confident now.
……
After approximately six more hours, all 1,000 people had gathered.
“Everyone, please follow me.”
Once all 1,000 people had assembled, a tall, thin, red-eyed man shrouded in an elegant white robe spoke in a hoarse voice. The faint aura emanating from him made all 1,000 young people feel apprehensive. It was as if ordinary people had encountered an incredibly terrifying venomous snake. After leaving the hall, the tall, thin, red-eyed man directly released a powerful, irresistible force that enveloped all 1,000 young people.
Whoosh!
They instantly transformed into a stream of light. After flying for several minutes, they arrived in front of a strange spacecraft parked on the grass. Only then did he release the 1,000 young people.
“Whew.”
Only then did Luo Feng breathe a sigh of relief. That cold sensation of being completely unable to resist had indeed made one’s heart tremble. The other geniuses around him were in the same state.
“Everyone, board the spacecraft,” the tall, thin, red-eyed man said coldly.
Luo Feng raised his head and looked at the strange spacecraft ahead.
“Is this a spacecraft?”
Luo Feng was extremely shocked. The spacecraft before him was far too strange because it was literally a huge fish! The entire vessel was a gigantic dark-blue fish, and even its tail fin was gently swaying. The entire thing looked like a fish nearly 1,000 metres long. Yet the ‘large fish’ spacecraft had a cabin door open in its abdomen, and the corridors inside could be seen through the entrance.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Apart from a very small number of the 1,000 geniuses who seemed to know about this type of spacecraft, everyone else looked bewildered. Only after the tall, thin, red-eyed man urged them on did they enter through the cabin door one after another.
“It looks just like any other spacecraft inside, so why does the outside look like a fish?” Luo Feng and the others walked along the corridor inside the spacecraft. “F-grade spacecraft are made entirely from naturally formed metal. The spacecraft used to transport the 1,000 of us were all F-grade spacecraft. Since we’re now heading to the Initial Universe, this spacecraft should at least be F-grade.”
Pure metal should be hard and tough.
Yet this looked exactly like a real fish. It was truly incredible.
“Idiot!”
“You don’t even understand this?” Babata’s voice rang out. “This is a spacecraft that has fused with another lifeform. And it is a very high-level lifeform, at least at the Immortal level. Some special races among metal lifeforms and plant lifeforms can fuse with a spacecraft and become one with it. This spacecraft… is far better than your teacher’s Yun Mo Starship. If my guess is correct, it should be an existence beyond F-grade, a G-grade spacecraft. Anyone capable of possessing this kind of spacecraft would be considered a supreme existence standing at the pinnacle of the vast universe.”
“A spacecraft fused with an Immortal-level lifeform?”
Before Luo Feng could react, he had already followed the crowd into the spacecraft’s main hall.
Inside the hall.
An invisible pressure caused all 1,000 geniuses to remain silent. Even the more than ten Immortal beings aboard the spacecraft, including the tall, thin, red-eyed man, slightly bowed.
Luo Feng immediately saw the cyan-armoured, purple-scaled man standing at the front. Although he was standing there, he gave off an ethereal sensation, making it seem as though he were merely a virtual projection rather than a real person.
The purple-scaled man looked at the group of young people and then said, “Depart. We are heading to the Initial Universe.”
Rumble~~
The large fish-like spacecraft swayed its tail fin and instantly disappeared from its original location.
