PDE Chapter 13

“Reaching your level of being a person is truly one of a kind in the world! Haha, this is the first time I have heard of someone being such a scumbag that an entire city avoids using the name ‘Ye Chu’!” Pang Shao laughed heartily. Ever since learning Ye Chu was from Yao City, Pang Shao had started digging into Ye Chu’s background extensively. The more he dug, the more shocked he became. Ye Chu’s scumbag reputation in Yao City had reached an earth-shattering level. Even Pang Shao’s own notoriety in the imperial capital was bad enough, but compared to Ye Chu, he realised he fell far short.

Ye Chu completely ignored Pang Shao’s mockery. He patted Pang Shao’s shoulder and said, “Doing evil is a long and arduous journey. You are still very weak and need to cultivate slowly! I grew tired of those petty evils you commit long ago. Now I pursue a higher realm.”

“What is this higher realm?” Pang Shao felt Ye Chu had truly transcended the level of mere scumbags. To shamelessly treat evil as a profession, his own misdeeds seemed trivial in comparison.

“Family secret! Not for outsiders!” Ye Chu shook his head.

“Family secret my arse!” Pang Shao could not help cursing. “But I really want to hear what heights this villain of yours has reached.”

“I am a principled man. What I say I will not share, I will not share! Threats and bribes have no effect on me, so give up on that idea. Of course, if you toss me a hundred or eighty gold coins, telling you would be no problem!” Ye Chu said firmly, as if nothing could shake his resolve.

Gold coins meant nothing to Pang Shao. Without a second word, he threw a handful over! Watching Ye Chu catch them with a beaming smile, Pang Shao felt extreme disdain. He thought to himself that Ye Chu had no principles at all!

“For the sake of the gold coins, today your brother will give you a lesson on what true evil really is!” Ye Chu tucked the coins into his robe. He thought these would tide him over for a while. Otherwise, penniless as he was, he could not even find a place to stay.

“Those methods of yours, bullying men and dominating women, using threats and bribes to ruin women, belong to the lowest level.” Ye Chu continued, “The highest realm of evil is to ruin her body while making her grateful and devoted, with her heart tied to you. In simple terms, sell her and still have her count the money for you.”

“Do you think women are fools?” Pang Shao cursed. He thought this was indeed evil enough, but putting it into practice would be incredibly difficult.

“That is why you have always remained at this low level. You play with nothing but worn-out flowers and defeated willows. You have never touched a truly good woman.” Ye Chu said with contempt. “Think about how the famous ladies in the imperial capital scorn you. That shows how pathetic you are, yet you still secretly feel proud!”

Pang Shao recalled the women he had been with. Indeed, none could be called top-tier. Thinking of how those famous ladies in the imperial capital had been willing to surround Ye Chu back then, his eyes suddenly lit up. He stared straight at Ye Chu.

“Do you not think conquering a woman’s body and heart brings far more satisfaction and difficulty than just conquering her body? As for how to achieve it, that depends on individual talent! But I think you still have potential. Though you are currently at an infant level, with some practice you could master it. Just use that little vixen saintess as practice. If you can conquer her, you will have reached mastery.” Ye Chu looked at Pang Shao and said.

“Get lost!” Pang Shao wished he could kick Ye Chu to death. He thought this was digging a pit for him to jump into. Conquer the saintess? He was not tired of living!

“Fine! If you cannot rise to the challenge, you will forever remain at this stage where everyone curses you. Roughly the level I was at three years ago, no, four or five years ago.” Ye Chu shrugged. “Enough of hitting you where it hurts. What did you come to Yao City for this time? Do not tell me it is really just to find women. I do not believe you came to such a remote kingdom only for that.”

Speaking of this, Pang Shao’s expression turned grave. “The tomb of the great general was robbed!”

These words made Ye Chu’s heart jolt. His face grew extremely serious. “When did this happen?”

The empire had existed for countless years, with innumerable great generals throughout history. Yet only one tomb was called the Great General’s Tomb: that of the legendary great general from several hundred years ago. His strength had reached a level that shook heaven and earth, wept ghosts and gods. But he died suddenly afterwards. The empire built a tomb for him comparable to an imperial mausoleum. Everything from his life was buried with him. As a figure of such stature, the treasures he possessed were beyond counting. Moreover, rumours said his unparalleled strength came from obtaining a supreme treasure.

This news had driven countless people to try breaking into the Great General’s Tomb. Ye Chu and Pang Shao had attempted it once themselves, but failed. That time, their whole group nearly died inside, leaving Ye Chu with lingering fear even now.

The Great General’s Tomb was filled with traps and extreme danger. That alone was bad enough. More importantly, it was permeated with murderous qi that made cultivation nearly impossible!

Cultivators focused on refining their own vital spirit, absorbing the essence of sun and moon, and seizing the creations of heaven and earth. These were the three realms. No matter the realm, all involved absorbing spiritual qi. Spiritual qi was a general term, whether the essence of sun and moon, the vital energy of herbs, or the qi of heaven and earth. Anything beneficial to cultivation that could be absorbed into the body was called spiritual qi.

Yet in this world existed something completely opposite to spiritual qi: murderous qi! Since heaven and earth could produce spiritual qi suitable for humans, they could also produce violent murderous qi that destroyed life. Murderous qi was the nightmare of cultivators. Invasion by murderous qi could cause light injury or death in severe cases.

The murderous qi in the Great General’s Tomb was terrifying enough to have developed its own consciousness, almost like a demon. Ye Chu had a special physique, yet he had nearly died inside back then! Such an unparalleled deadly place—even the terrifying supreme elder in the imperial capital had said he dared not enter the Great General’s Tomb. Ye Chu could not imagine who could break in and rob it.

Ye Chu exhaled lightly and looked at Pang Shao. “What does this have to do with Yao City?”

“Many people entered the Great General’s Tomb this time, but the first one to go in is here in Yao City.” Pang Shao secretly rejoiced. Fortunately, he had been guarding the tomb entrance at the time, so he saw that person. He had pursued all the way here and discovered the person hiding in Yao City.

“What did he take from the Great General’s Tomb?” Ye Chu’s eyes lit up.

“I do not know that. What I can confirm is that he has already been invaded by murderous qi! He probably will not live much longer, so I came to check.” Pang Shao grinned slyly. “Do you want to come with me? With your special methods, if he goes berserk, I will not be afraid either!”

Ye Chu thought for a moment and nodded. “Let us go take a look! The murderous qi in the Great General’s Tomb is no small matter. If this person’s own strength is strong enough and the murderous qi has taken over his consciousness, causing him to go berserk, even I may not be able to handle it.”

Pang Shao naturally understood this. He could not help asking Ye Chu, “What level has your strength reached now? It has been almost a year. You should have long reached the second upper grade, perhaps even breaking through to the third grade?”

“How could it be that simple!” Ye Chu shook his head. “You cultivate yourself, so you should know cultivation is far harder than imagined!”

“Then what level have you reached?” Pang Shao asked.

“Do you want to test it?” Ye Chu grinned slyly, looking at Pang Shao.

Pang Shao’s expression changed drastically. He quickly moved farther from Ye Chu and laughed awkwardly. “I was just asking, no other meaning! Hehe, just asking!”

Pang Shao knew this fellow’s methods all too well. If they really tested, he feared he would not get out of bed today. In the past, this guy always tricked him by saying “just a light touch”, yet every time Pang Shao ended up bedridden. His “light touch” meant one touch and down!

Pang Shao could only laugh it off. He would never dare test Ye Chu again.
