“People can really talk nonsense to this extent!” Pang Shao and the others stared dumbfounded at Wang Yan, whose face had turned bright red. They thought their scheme had failed again.
“Should we activate the second phase of the plan?” Liu Shaoyang stared blankly at Pang Shao and asked.
Pang Shao looked at Liu Shaoyang and the group, then pointed at Ye Chu, who was chatting and laughing merrily with Wang Yan. “Do any of you have his level of shamelessness?”
Everyone shook their heads!
“Do any of you have his level of thick-skinned audacity?”
Everyone continued shaking their heads!
“Do any of you have his skill at deceiving women without paying the price?”
Everyone still shook their heads!
“Damn it! None of you can match his shamelessness, audacity, filthiness, or wolf-hearted, dog-lunged nature. So do you think you can disgust him?” Pang Shao said contemptuously to the group. “You can play if you want, but don’t drag me into it. Once he sets his sights on you, nothing good comes of it.”
The group exchanged glances, then looked at Ye Chu, who had Wang Yan blushing furiously. Without another word, they scattered in all directions. No one wanted to be the first to stick their neck out.
“Miss Wang Yan, that bunch of troublemakers just wanted to ruin my reputation. You must not listen to them anymore in the future. After all, I cannot compare to their thick-skinned shamelessness. Would you really bear to be schemed against by them?” Ye Chu sighed, his gaze drifting to Wang Yan’s chest, which seemed ready to burst through her clothes. He found it hard to believe how much she had grown in just one year.
“Hehe! Do you really think you’re a good person?” Wang Yan gave Ye Chu a playful glare. “Do you truly believe I think you’re devoted? I’m not that foolish. Everyone knows how many famous ladies in the imperial city you’ve coaxed. But your earlier nonsense sounded quite pleasant to me, so I won’t hold it against you.”
Ye Chu did not mind being exposed and laughed. “I knew Miss Wang Yan was clever. How could my little tricks fool you? But saying I’m not devoted might not be entirely accurate. Although I enjoy flirting and bantering with all you beautiful ladies, it’s only because each of you is so charming that it’s hard for me to choose.”
These ladies were no fools. He never thought those blatant lies would fool anyone. Besides, with all the connections among these ladies, whatever he said would quickly reach everyone’s ears.
Wang Yan stared at Ye Chu. “Though you’re full of lies sometimes, we sisters know you’re just playing around and teasing us. When it comes to right and wrong, you’re still fairly honest with us. You’re witty and amusing. You’re not exactly a gentleman, but you’re certainly a man of true feelings. Unlike Pang Shao, Liu Shaoyang, and that lot, who are shameless, despicable, vulgar, and utterly without shame.”
Liu Shaoyang and Pang Shao were right nearby. Hearing this, they nearly spat blood. “They’re shameless, despicable, vulgar, and without shame? And Ye Chu is the honest one? Damn it! Are these women blind?”
Seeing Wang Yan’s smug expression, as though she had seen right through Ye Chu, Pang Shao wanted to cry. What was wrong with these women? Had their eyes gone bad?
Ye Chu gave a shy smile. “It’s not that I don’t want to take you ladies to bed. It’s just that seeing how gentle and beautiful you all are, I can’t bear to act. So… moreover, I want to save my first time for the woman I like the most.”
“…” Pang Shao and the others could not listen any longer. They turned and walked away from Ye Chu. They thought to themselves: Ye Chu, do we not know what kind of person you are? Your first time? If you still have a first time, then pigs can fly!
Pang Shao felt that listening to Ye Chu coax women any longer might give him a heart attack.
Though Wang Yan’s face was flushed red, her eyes shone brightly as she looked at Ye Chu.
“Damn! Another woman has been deceived by Ye Chu!”
The group sighed, feeling that life was truly absurd. Was it really that the more beastly and troublesome someone was, the better women they attracted? Heaven was too unfair to honest people like them!
…
Many famous beauties had come to the banquet. Ye Chu moved among them like a fish in water, keeping just the right distance to draw them closer, making the ladies approach him voluntarily.
Ye Chu finally extricated himself from the crowd of ladies and walked over to Pang Shao and the others. “You lot are always thinking of ways to ruin my reputation, but you’ll never understand. There’s an essential difference between a gentleman and a scoundrel. No matter how you scheme to tarnish him, a gentleman’s character remains steadfast and unyielding.”
“Pfft!” Everyone spat that single word at him and refused to engage.
Pang Shao tossed a set of keys to Ye Chu. “This is the residence the You family sent over. Now you have a foothold in the capital. Tsk tsk. I wonder what these ladies would think if I told them you smashed one of their residences and then forced them to give you another through threats and inducements.”
“Please, go ahead.” Ye Chu made an inviting gesture, urging Pang Shao to do it.
Ye Chu noticed the ladies glancing over frequently and ultimately gave up the idea. Pang Shao suspected that if he really went and said it, these women who had been completely charmed by Ye Chu would only think he was stirring trouble. They might even see Ye Chu’s actions as ridding evil for the greater good.
“It’s truly hard to understand how you manage to swim so freely among all these women.” Pang Shao said, not without envy. He wanted to hook up with any one of these ladies, but they were sharp as knives around him. Yet in front of Ye Chu, they all turned foolish.
Ye Chu laughed inwardly. If Pang Shao had experienced the same night scenes as he had in his previous life, drifting through debauchery and romance, he would not find it strange!
In those nightclubs, what scene had he not seen? Forget this little game. Ye Chu had reached the point where he could face a group of scantily clad beauties in a nightclub without batting an eye.
“Where’s Bai Xuan? Why isn’t she out?” Pang Shao asked Ye Chu. “You’re not hiding her away like a precious treasure, are you?”
Ye Chu gave Pang Shao a contemptuous look. “Do you think I’m like you, hiding a woman at home out of fear someone might steal her?”
“Hehe!” Pang Shao chuckled awkwardly, knowing Ye Chu was mocking him for keeping his ‘captive bride’ under lock and key. “You’ve coaxed Bai Xuan all the way to the imperial city. I suppose you’ve also coaxed whatever Bai Bao got from the General’s residence.”
Ye Chu shook his head. “I didn’t ask him for it. But I got something far more important than that!”
“Hm?” Pang Shao’s eyes lit up. He stared at Ye Chu. “Bai Bao was the only one who entered the depths of the General’s residence. The others followed him in but never reached the innermost part. He must have gotten something good. Even if not the most precious, it should still be close. What could possibly be more important than that?”
Seeing Pang Shao staring at him intently, full of suspicion, Ye Chu knew what Bai Bao was thinking. He believed Ye Chu had given up because of Bai Xuan’s beauty trap.
“If I said I have a way to enter the General’s residence, wouldn’t that be far more important?”
“What?!” Pang Shao jumped up suddenly, eyes wide with shock as he stared at Ye Chu. His face flushed red with excitement, his gaze burning with greed.
Pang Shao’s loud exclamation drew everyone’s attention. They exchanged glances, wondering what had made Pang Shao suddenly so agitated.
