TWSBHSW Chapter 30

“Rumble.” The only large gate slammed shut.

The martial artist actual combat assessment officially began.

In this enclosed small town the 1680 prospective martial artists quickly spread out and began to hunt their prey.

“Brother Yang, you want to explore this monster town alone?” Luo Feng and Yang Wu stood by the wall of a rundown small supermarket. Yang Wu nodded seriously. “Madman, this martial artist actual combat assessment is not just an exam. More importantly it is a test of courage. In the future when you truly enter dangerous areas alone the dangers you encounter will be ten or a hundred times greater than this. If even in this monster town I need your help what will happen later?”

Luo Feng nodded. “That makes sense. Brother Yang be careful.”

“Yes. Madman you also seize the opportunity.” Yang Wu reminded him. “This town only has the weakest H level monsters. In the future there will not be such a good chance where all the monsters are the weakest level for us to practise our blades on.”

“I understand. This is a rare chance to train my blade skills.” Luo Feng smiled and nodded.

“Good. See you outside the town tomorrow at dawn.” After speaking Yang Wu carefully looked around then whooshed away at high speed.

Luo Feng also quickly darted into a shadowy spot.

Night fell. Large searchlights around the edge of this enclosed town shone on it making many areas quite bright. Yet many places still remained dim and grey.

“According to what the martial artists in the compound said monsters are divided into beast soldier level, beast general level and lord level. They correspond to human warrior level, warrior general level and god of war level.” Luo Feng had a hexagonal shield on his left forearm and held the blood shadow warblade in his right hand. He stood quietly in a rundown dusty alley.

“The weakest beginner beast soldier level is H level monsters. Their strength is similar to human beginner warriors.”

“Although there are many monsters in this town they are mainly of three types. The shadow cats from the feline category that win with speed, the iron fur wild boars that win with strong power and defence, and the tiger mastiff dogs from the canine category that have extremely astonishing speed and power.” Luo Feng scanned around.

Suddenly in a collapsed two storey building in the distance a shadow slowly advanced. With Luo Feng’s eyesight he quickly saw clearly. It was a monster about one point five metres tall with fur like sharp spikes all over its body. Its large mouth had two huge fangs that reflected a chilling light under the distant searchlight beams.

Normal meat pigs eaten by humans are usually only sixty to seventy centimetres tall.

This meant this monster was more than twice the height of a normal domestic pig. It was like a small car.

“Iron fur wild boar? My first prey will be you.” Luo Feng walked straight out from the alley and exposed himself in the iron fur wild boar’s line of sight.

“Huff huff.” The iron fur wild boar stared at the human warrior in front of it holding a shield in one hand and warblade in the other. It let out strange low roars then its thick four hooves suddenly stomped the concrete ground raising a cloud of dust. Carrying a stinking gust of wind it charged rumbling towards Luo Feng like a heavy off road vehicle speeding forward.

Its two sharp long fangs came straight at him like two giant curved blades.

“Whoosh.” As the iron fur wild boar charged over Luo Feng quickly dodged to its side. The charging iron fur wild boar could not stop in time. Then cold light flashed in Luo Feng’s eyes. His full body strength erupted and poured into his arm. Without mercy the blood shadow warblade delivered a swift upward slash. The blade edge cut from bottom to top across the iron fur wild boar’s neck.

Puff.

The iron fur wild boar’s head flew straight off its body. Blood sprayed wildly from the severed neck. Its body continued running forward for over ten metres due to inertia before crashing down. It twitched on the ground for a while before finally dying completely.

“Huff, huff.” Luo Feng took two deep breaths. The scene of the monster spraying blood from its severed neck made his heart tremble a little.

Killing a monster.

The first time killing a monster indeed felt somewhat shocking.

“No wonder Uncle Wu said many prospective martial artists see blood for the first time and cannot even show one tenth of their strength.” Luo Feng reflected on the fight just now. “The initial dodge was good but afterwards that upward slash directly cut off the iron fur wild boar’s head. That wasted too much energy. If it was a normal prospective martial artist one slash could not possibly cut off the iron fur wild boar’s head.”

The iron fur wild boar’s defence is very strong but that is relative to normal prospective martial artists.

Luo Feng’s current strength even compared to intermediate warriors is first class. Fighting this iron fur wild boar was basically bullying it.

“According to the martial artist brothers in Ming Yue Compound when dealing with monsters you cannot fight recklessly. You must know how to target their weaknesses.”

“Also when I saw the iron fur wild boar’s neck spray blood my heart trembled. I must get used to it. In the future I will often fight monsters and walk on the edge of life and death. In critical fights poor mental quality can easily lead to death.” Luo Feng understood that the more critical the moment the calmer one must be.

Actually Luo Feng’s mentality was already quite good. After all for the first time killing a monster many people performed far worse than him.

Luo Feng walked to the pig head cut off its left ear with one swing and put it into the backpack behind him. “First one. On to the next.” Luo Feng flashed away and quickly disappeared on the street leaving only the headless corpse of the iron fur wild boar lying on the road. Blood dyed the dusty concrete surface red.

Time passed minute by minute. In every corner of this enclosed town bloody battles were happening again and again. Although these H level monsters had strength similar to the prospective martial artists humans had one advantage: wisdom. The weakest H level monsters had no wisdom only some beast instincts.

Around eight o’clock in the evening.

On the rooftop of a six storey residential building two black shadows charged at each other rapidly.

Whoosh.

A cold light flashed. Luo Feng half knelt on the platform. A trace of blood could be seen on the edge of the blood shadow warblade in his hand. The other black shadow flew away weakly and fell on the rooftop leaving bloodstains on the ground.

“This shadow cat really is the fastest one. For an H level monster its speed is actually around forty metres per second.” Luo Feng stood up and walked over. This shadow cat corpse on the ground had grey fur all over. Its body was not large only about half a metre long. At this moment there was a frightening wound on the shadow cat’s belly. Its internal organs had been cut open by Luo Feng’s previous slash.

“For ordinary prospective martial artists this shadow cat is indeed quite threatening. But when it meets me what a pity.” Luo Feng shook his head and cut off the shadow cat’s left ear.

Luo Feng’s speed was much faster than the shadow cat’s.

No way around it. Luo Feng was actually already at intermediate warrior level strength and among intermediate warriors he counted as upper tier.

“Fifth one.”

Luo Feng stored the trophy. “Generally killing three monsters almost guarantees passing. I have killed five so I will definitely pass. Then from now on I will seriously train my blade technique and body technique.” Earlier he killed monsters just to accumulate some points. Now he had enough points.

“I will now use one thousand kilograms of fist strength and thirty metres per second speed. I will start truly fighting these monsters.”

The previous Luo Feng was basically bullying the monsters. The two sides were not on the same level.

Now Luo Feng suppressed his strength to make the sides roughly equal. Only then could it serve as proper training. After all in the future when entering dangerous areas it would not always be possible to kill monsters an entire level weaker than himself.

“Begin.”

Luo Feng stood at the edge of the residential building rooftop and slowly looked down and around.

“Hmm? First one.” Luo Feng spotted at a glance on the roof of a rundown three storey villa diagonally below a streamlined tiger mastiff dog with spots all over its body. Luo Feng immediately dashed over then leaped from the rooftop edge flying over ten metres and landed heavily on the top floor of the rundown villa causing the floor to shake violently.

Luo Feng rolled on the ground to dissipate the impact force then charged straight at the tiger mastiff dog.

“Roar.” The tiger mastiff dog also pounced over.

A cold youth with bloodstains on his body held a Ghost Moon blade and walked arrogantly on the street.

“I wonder how many monsters that Luo Feng has killed.” The cold youth thought silently. He was Wan Dong the only genius among the 1680 prospective martial artists whose strength was close to Luo Feng’s. He had been recruited early by Thunderbolt Martial Hall. Although three people were recruited early this time.

Among the three one was a firearms genius who played with guns. His physical fitness was not high.

Only Luo Feng and this Wan Dong were geniuses with similar physical fitness.

“Hmm?” Wan Dong’s gaze fell into the distance.

He saw a figure constantly fighting two shadow cats. The two shadow cats let out piercing cries. Their speed was astonishingly fast and their sharp claws kept grabbing. The figure flexibly dodged again and again while fighting the two shadow cats.

“Luo Feng. You are so slow even killing two shadow cats? You really disappoint me.” Wan Dong shouted loudly with a sneer.

“Swish.” “Swish.”

Almost like lightning Luo Feng’s blood shadow warblade thrust twice. The two shadow cats rolled straight onto the ground. They struggled a bit then stopped moving.

“So fast.” Wan Dong jumped in fright and felt a chill in his heart. “And the blade moves are clean and direct hitting the shadow cats’ vital points.” Only from these two thrusts did Wan Dong realise Luo Feng’s strength could not be underestimated.

“I originally wanted to play with you two a bit longer to continue training my body technique.” Luo Feng looked at the two shadow cat corpses and muttered. “But that guy is too annoying. I do not want him to see me training my body technique and blade technique.” Luo Feng cut off the left ears of the two shadow cats put them into the backpack behind him and quickly disappeared without even looking at Wan Dong.
