“Understood.”
Luo Feng replied.
“Luo Feng, I won’t say much at a time like this. I’m counting on you.”
Jia Yi said sincerely.
Among humanity, only a handful of people such as Hong, Thunder God, Luo Feng, and Mohandeson possessed the strength to kill groups of King Level monsters alone.
Click.
After ending the call, Luo Feng turned to look at everyone in the room.
Luo Hongguo and the others were all looking at him.
“Be careful.”
Luo Hongguo said only those three words.
Luo Feng nodded slightly.
With a thought.
Whoosh!
Three completely black metal robots suddenly appeared inside the room, startling everyone present.
“XXXX…”
Luo Feng immediately gave orders in the universal language.
He instructed one robot to protect his family, while the other two remained at home on standby. If Yangzhou City came under attack, they were to assist in its defence.
“XX.”
All three metal robots acknowledged the orders.
Although their artificial intelligence was limited and required precise commands, they were still far more advanced than the intelligent fighter aircraft of Earth.
“Xiaofeng.”
“Brother.”
Everyone in the living room stared at Luo Feng in surprise.
Three robots?
Earth certainly had robots, but they were all slow and unintelligent.
“Dad, all of you should go upstairs. If you notice any danger, enter the gravity room immediately.”
After giving his instructions, Luo Feng dared not delay.
He immediately flew out of Mingyue Residential District.
Dawn was beginning to break.
Yet the entire city of Yangzhou was already in turmoil.
The streets were packed with young people trying to enlist, while soldiers could be seen everywhere.
High in the sky.
Standing on the Soaring Heaven Shuttle, Luo Feng shot eastward at incredible speed.
“What a pity. Those three robots are only maintenance robots from the spaceship.”
Babata’s voice echoed within Luo Feng’s mind.
“When it comes to combat and killing, they’re probably weaker than you.”
“Have the Silver Guards been repaired yet?”
Luo Feng asked.
“What about the weapon?”
“The Silver Guards originally used C Grade energy crystals, but those were exhausted long ago. After sitting unused for hundreds of thousands of years, they needed repairs. They should be ready within three days.”
“As for the weapon, I’ve already removed the strongest single target weapon from the Black Dragon Mountain X81 spaceship, the laser cannon. It’s currently being repaired.”
Babata continued.
“I also have enough energy crystals in storage.”
Luo Feng felt relieved.
According to Babata, laser cannons were weapons with limitless potential.
In theory, their destructive power could approach infinity.
Some of the rarest top tier laser weapons in the universe were even capable of threatening World Masters.
“How powerful is it?”
Luo Feng asked.
“It can kill a Level Six Stellar Level human warrior.”
Babata replied.
“A Level Six Stellar warrior is dozens of times stronger than a Level One.”
“Even though it’s a star beast, it absolutely won’t be able to withstand that laser cannon.”
Hearing the words, “absolutely won’t be able to withstand it”, Luo Feng finally relaxed.
Babata behaved like a child, but he never made reckless claims.
“But it needs time.”
Babata added.
“Do everything possible to finish it as quickly as you can.”
Luo Feng urged.
“If we work at full speed, it’ll take around twenty eight to thirty hours.”
Babata replied.
Luo Feng fell into thought.
Twenty eight to thirty hours.
Just over one day.
China would probably suffer enormous losses during that time, but its cities should still survive.
Unless the Devouring Beast appeared…
He could only pray.
Whoosh!
While continuing his conversation with Babata through his thoughts, Luo Feng maintained his speed as he raced towards the Southeastern Military Region.
China, Kyoto Base City.
Central Command Headquarters.
Several national leaders had gathered inside.
The large screen displayed two satellite feeds.
One showed six enormous, ferocious King Level monsters flying towards the Southeastern Military Region.
The other showed Luo Feng, dressed in crimson battle armour, standing upon the Soaring Heaven Shuttle as he sped towards the same destination.
“Luo Feng is already on his way to the Southeastern Military Region.”
Jia Yi reported.
“Immediately broadcast this battle live across the entire country.”
The nation’s top leader, a thin elderly man with greying hair, gave the order.
“Old Zhou?”
Jia Yi looked at him in surprise.
The elderly man surnamed Zhou spoke solemnly.
“Jia Yi, you said yourself that King Level monsters vary in strength. Even Councillor level warriors can die fighting them.”
“This is humanity’s moment of life and death.”
“We need our Councillors to sacrifice everything.”
“At a time like this, should we allow them to die without anyone knowing?”
The leaders inside the command centre immediately understood.
If they wanted the Councillors to fight with everything they had, it had to come willingly.
The government could not force them.
“They must volunteer.”
“And to make them volunteer, we must ignite their passion.”
“Only when their blood burns.”
“Only when their faith is unwavering.”
“Will they truly risk their lives.”
Old Zhou said.
At once, every television broadcast across China changed.
“The Southeastern Military Region is in danger.”
“The Southeastern Military Region is in danger.”
“Six King Level sea monsters are currently flying towards the Southeastern Military Region.”
As the commentator spoke, the images appeared on every television screen across China.
Whether in homes, on giant roadside displays, or on screens inside underground shelters, everyone saw the same scene.
Six King Level monsters.
Every one of them looked terrifying.
One was an enormous serpent nearly two hundred metres long, with dark blue black scales and a purple belly.
If it stood upright, it would rival a seventy storey building.
Another was the Earth Shaking Whale King, resembling a gigantic airborne nuclear submarine.
There was also the famous East Sea Azure Dragon, a huge dragon covered in blue scales with strange crimson eyes.
Another was an almost transparent giant jellyfish whose umbrella measured over thirty metres across, while its countless tentacles stretched several hundred metres.
…
All six King Level monsters were extraordinarily powerful.
The East Sea Azure Dragon and the Poison Jellyfish King were especially dangerous.
Even Jia Yi would not dare confront them lightly.
When China’s 1.2 billion citizens saw the images, they all held their breath.
Few had ever imagined monsters this terrifying.
The commentator continued explaining each monster’s abilities, making everyone even more worried for the hundreds of thousands of soldiers stationed in the Southeastern Military Region.
“No.”
A little girl covered her eyes, too frightened to watch.
“It can’t happen.”
Many elderly people silently prayed to the Buddha and Guanyin before their televisions.
“King Level monsters.”
“Six of them.”
The young people, filled with passion after years of martial arts training, stared wide eyed.
They had always believed ordinary monsters were terrifying.
Compared with these six King Level monsters, however, those ordinary beasts seemed insignificant.
“Earlier, the Devouring Beast ravaged the entire planet and destroyed every laser cannon in every military region and war base.”
“Facing these six King Level monsters, the Southeastern Military Region is carrying out a strategic withdrawal.”
“However, the army cannot outrun them.”
“The monsters are flying at eight hundred and twenty metres per second.”
Everyone watching television held their breath.
…
The screen suddenly switched.
A young man wearing crimson battle armour stood upon the Soaring Heaven Shuttle, flying through the sky at incredible speed.
Instantly, countless viewers across the country became excited.
Flying.
That was the symbol of humanity’s supreme warriors, beings beyond the War God level.
“It’s Councillor Luo Feng.”
“Councillor Luo Feng is currently travelling towards the Southeastern Military Region at maximum speed.”
“Our latest data shows his speed has reached…”
“Five thousand six hundred and ten metres per second.”
“I must be seeing things.”
“My goodness.”
“It really is five thousand six hundred and ten metres per second.”
“Sixteen point five times the speed of sound.”
The commentator’s voice overflowed with shock.
He was not alone.
Every Planetary Level warrior watching the broadcast was equally stunned.
In terms of flying speed, even Hong and Thunder God were probably slower than Luo Feng.
“He’s caught up.”
“Councillor Luo Feng has caught them.”
The screen finally displayed Luo Feng and the six King Level monsters together.
Compared with those gigantic monsters, Luo Feng looked no larger than an ant.
One tiny figure against six colossal beasts.
Everyone watching felt their hearts tighten.
Suddenly, the enormous Jellyfish King released a vast cloud of green mist covering several kilometres.
Poison gas.
The entire screen turned green.
The commentator immediately explained that the Jellyfish King had released its deadly poison and described its terrifying abilities.
Everyone listening shuddered.
The Jellyfish King was one of the deadliest poisonous monsters on Earth.
“What happened?”
“What’s happening?”
“Is Councillor Luo Feng alright inside that poison?”
Everyone became extremely anxious.
“Luo Feng.”
Xu Xin trembled all over.
“Luo Feng.”
Wei Wen also stared nervously at the giant screen above the street.
Within the poisonous cloud.
Luo Feng stood upon the Soaring Heaven Shuttle.
His spirit force formed a protective barrier around him.
The barrier was so dense and resilient that not even a trace of poison could penetrate it.
“Killing one King Level monster means saving hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of my fellow people.”
Luo Feng stared coldly at the six monsters charging towards him.
His eyes overflowed with killing intent.
“So all of you can die.”
Boom!
Luo Feng violently swung the Arc Blade Disc in his right hand.
Whoosh!
It sliced through the air as though space itself had been cut apart.
The Arc Blade Disc transformed into a gigantic golden crescent blade that flew wildly through the sky.
The first victim was the poisonous Jellyfish King.
Its remarkably tough body was instantly cut cleanly in half.
The triangular headed monster carrying a massive shell had its armour sliced apart as well.
Slice.
Slice.
Slice.
The Arc Blade Disc possessed even greater offensive power than the Soaring Heaven Shuttle.
Although the East Sea Azure Dragon proved more difficult to cut, it too was eventually severed.
All six King Level monsters were chopped into seven or eight pieces by the wildly dancing golden blade.
Foul smelling and strangely fragrant blood sprayed through the sky.
Across China, countless people stared at the screen with their hearts in their throats.
The earlier footage of the Devouring Beast had filled humanity with despair.
Now…
Every Chinese citizen longed for a victory.
Even the smallest glimmer of hope.
A chance for humanity to survive.
On the screen.
The poisonous mist quickly dispersed.
Luo Feng, still standing upon the Soaring Heaven Shuttle, casually waved his hand.
The enormous golden crescent blade, over thirty metres long, flew back into his grasp.
All around him, the severed remains of the monsters rained from the sky.
Some were giant claws.
Some were tentacles.
Others were broken scales and chunks of flesh.
“We won.”
“We won.”
“The monsters are dead.”
At that moment, many people burst into tears of joy.
Finally.
At long last.
There was some good news.
“Councillor Luo Feng is incredible.”
“He’s flying at sixteen point five times the speed of sound.”
“With Councillor Luo Feng here, we’ll definitely win.”
From that day onwards, countless people remembered the name Luo Feng.
“The Central Southern Military Region is in danger.”
“Councillor Yao Weiwu is now rushing there to provide support.”
The broadcast switched once again.
Luo Feng was powerful.
But he was only one man.
He could not fight in two places at the same time.
Battles erupted one after another.
War spread across the entire nation.
At humanity’s darkest hour, one Councillor after another stepped forward.
Names that had once been known only to a few, Luo Feng, Zhu Xi, Yao Weiwu, and many others, became known throughout the country.
At that moment, they were humanity’s strongest warriors and its brightest heroes.
