As a Planetary level powerhouse, Luo Feng naturally knew some of the major figures on Earth. Isadora. The queen of the underground world, whose life story could easily fill an entire biography.
Inside a quiet café in Hongning Base City, in a private room.
Luo Feng and Chairwoman Isadora sat facing each other.
“Madam Isadora.” Luo Feng tore open a sugar packet, poured it into his coffee, and slowly stirred it. “May I ask why you wanted to see me?”
“Since Inspector Luo is so straightforward, I’ll get straight to the point as well.” The elderly Isadora smiled, crow’s feet appearing at the corners of her eyes. “During the battle over the Mu Ya Crystals on Mist Island, Inspector Luo’s strength proved to be on par with the Third Speaker, the Fourth Speaker, and the others. It certainly made every faction view you in a new light.”
Luo Feng smiled faintly. The battle on Mist Island had indeed placed him alongside the three Speakers behind Hong and Thunder God.
“Inspector Luo’s gains this time were considerable as well.” Isadora looked at Luo Feng. “Our HR Alliance also wants the Mu Ya Crystals. Naturally, you may name your price, Inspector Luo. We will certainly offer fair terms.”
Luo Feng smiled.
Mu Ya Crystals?
He naturally knew that every major force in the world was eager to obtain them. Mu Ya Crystals had many uses, one of which was allowing an Apprentice Level Eight or Nine martial artist to transform into a Planetary level fighter within a month. In other words, a single Mu Ya Crystal could directly create a Council Member level powerhouse.
How many Council Members did Earth have? To the five great nations, a Council Member was equivalent to a mobile nuclear weapon.
“Idiots. They’re planning to use Mu Ya Crystals to create First Level Planetary fighters again.” Inside the wrist guard’s storage space, Babata, dressed in luxurious imperial robes, sat at a dining table stuffing food into his mouth while cursing. “Using a treasure like a Mu Ya Crystal just to create a few First Level Planetary fighters is such a waste.”
It really was a waste.
To the master of Yun Mo Planet, Mu Ya Crystals were nothing extraordinary, but they were still considered treasures even in the universe. Meanwhile, a First Level Planetary fighter was as common as dirt throughout the cosmos, countless in number. They were the weakest class of warriors. Who would waste a Mu Ya Crystal just to create one?
Take Hong and Thunder God, for example. They would never bear to use them to help War God level martial artists. Without Mu Ya Crystals, advancing to the Stellar level would be extremely difficult for them. With them, however, their chances increased significantly.
…
However, on Earth, a First Level Planetary fighter already stood at the very peak.
“Mu Ya Crystals? I’m truly sorry. I just exchanged mine with the Hall Master for some other items.” Luo Feng said apologetically.
“I see.” Chairwoman Isadora looked at Luo Feng. “Inspector Luo, do you happen to have any left?” Even one Mu Ya Crystal could produce another Council Member.
Luo Feng gave her a mysterious smile.
Isadora immediately understood. Luo Feng still had some in reserve.
“How about this, Madam Isadora. I’ll pay you a visit next time.” Luo Feng smiled. “I’m rather interested in relics from ancient civilisations, spacecraft and other unusual things like that.”
“Oh?” Isadora was startled.
To every nation, ancient civilisation relics were highly classified, because researching ancient technology might lead to remarkable discoveries.
“Very well. I’ll prepare a catalogue and wait for your visit, Inspector Luo.”
She did not hesitate. Trading some ancient civilisation relics for Mu Ya Crystals was well worth it.
Luo Feng understood clearly that every ancient civilisation site on Earth had already been discovered long ago. Anything that could be moved had almost certainly been taken away already. Anything even Hong and the others could not move was probably beyond his ability as well. Since that was the case, his only option was to negotiate with the various nations, the HR Alliance, and the martial arts halls to obtain the materials needed to assemble the spacecraft.
After all, comparing offers from multiple buyers was always the smartest approach.
Mu Ya Crystals were treasures every faction desperately wanted.
That afternoon, Luo Feng returned to his home in Yangzhou City aboard his intelligent fighter.
After lunch.
On the second floor of the Luo family home, only Luo Feng, Luo Hua, and their parents were present.
“Dad, Mum, Luo Hua, after swallowing this, you’ll feel a tingling sensation throughout your body, along with a refreshing coolness.” Luo Feng placed three pieces of pale green fruit flesh before them. They all came from the same spirit plant. The medicinal effects of spirit plants were generally very gentle and caused no harm to the body.
However, dividing a single spirit plant among three ordinary people was something very few would ever do.
It was simply too extravagant.
A single spirit plant could allow an Advanced Warlord level martial artist to leap directly to an Intermediate War God or even an Advanced War God. Furthermore, a large portion of its medicinal power would remain dormant within the body, gradually being absorbed through cultivation, allowing strength to increase rapidly. Thus, one spirit plant was almost equivalent to creating an Advanced War God.
Giving one to an ordinary person…
At best, it would only create a Warlord level martial artist.
“It’s quite sweet.” Luo Hongguo took a small bite, and it melted instantly in his mouth.
“It tastes a bit better than carrots.” Gong Xinlan commented.
“It really is delicious.” Luo Hua swallowed his portion as well.
Only after seeing all of them finish eating did Luo Feng say, “Well, it does taste better than carrots, but it’s also much more expensive. It’s worth even more than the Thousand Year Black Crow Root from last time.”
“What!”
“More expensive than the Thousand Year Black Crow Root?”
Luo Hongguo, Gong Xinlan, and Luo Hua were all stunned.
The last time Luo Feng had been trapped inside Ancient Civilisation Ruin No. 9, the family had fallen into hardship. It was only because Luo Hua had used the Thousand Year Black Crow Root that he had become the eighth largest shareholder of the Industrial and Commercial Bank. That treasure alone had already been unimaginably valuable.
“So… we just ate something worth tens of billions?” The three looked at each other in disbelief.
“Dad, Mum, don’t measure these things by money. Some treasures on Earth simply can’t be bought with wealth.” Luo Feng shook his head. “The spirit plants you just consumed together amounted to one whole plant. There are still another eight spirit plants and two portions of Dragon Blood in the password locked case I brought back. Luo Hua, I’ll leave them in your care.”
“Eight spirit plants? Two portions of Dragon Blood?” His younger brother Luo Hua was completely astonished.
Luo Feng smiled.
People viewed the world differently depending on their status. In terms of strength alone, once he fully inherited his teacher’s legacy, Luo Feng would stand on the same level as Hong and Thunder God. Figures like them stood far above everyone else, with influence even exceeding that of the five great nations. At that level, Earth’s currency was practically meaningless.
As for status…
As the sole inheritor of the Master of Yun Mo Planet, his status surpassed even that of the Emperor of the Silver Blue Empire, who ruled eight star systems. Unfortunately, the Master of Yun Mo Planet had died, and all of his influence had disappeared with him. Even so, Luo Feng was grateful, because if Yun Mo Planet had never fallen, he would never have had the opportunity to become the master’s direct disciple.
Watching his parents and younger brother trying to swing his Blood Shadow Sabre, Luo Feng smiled.
“Babata, test the physical condition of my parents and brother. What level have they reached?”
“Your father is Apprentice Level Three, your mother is Apprentice Level Two, and your younger brother is Apprentice Level Three. Ordinary people really absorb energy inefficiently. Although that spirit plant was divided into three portions, each portion was no less effective than one portion of Dragon Blood. A single portion of Dragon Blood can allow what you people call a prospective martial artist to become an Elementary Warlord.”
Luo Feng was very satisfied.
As long as his family remained healthy, that was enough. He had never intended for his parents to venture into the wilderness to hunt monsters.
“Dad, Mum, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“What is it?” Luo Hongguo and Gong Xinlan were still immersed in the joy of their transformed bodies.
“I’ve received some news. We still have living relatives.”
“They’re alive?” Luo Hongguo and his wife became excited immediately. “Xiao Feng, tell us quickly. How many?”
“So far, we’ve found two families.” Luo Feng answered directly. “The first is Mum’s cousin, Gong Xinhua.”
“Little Hua from my uncle’s family?” Gong Xinlan was pleasantly surprised, though not overwhelmingly so. At the beginning of the Great Nirvana, she had been too young to remember much. It was only later, during their escape, that Luo Feng’s grandfather had told her about this relative. As a result, she had no real memories of Gong Xinhua.
“What about the second family?” Luo Hongguo asked eagerly.
“The second family is your aunt, Dad, Luo Hongqin, my great aunt. Her son, Tang Cheng, is also alive. He’s now married with children, a pair of twin siblings, one boy and one girl. They’re the same age as me.”
“My aunt is still alive?”
“My aunt is still alive?” Luo Hongguo’s eyes widened.
Seeing his father’s reaction made Luo Feng’s heart ache.
Back when they lived in subsidised housing, his father often spoke about this aunt. Unlike his mother, his father had already been old enough to remember things before the Great Nirvana. His memories of his aunt remained vivid. Whenever he reminisced about family members, apart from Luo Feng’s grandparents, it was always this great aunt he mentioned most.
“Every time Aunt visited me, she brought delicious food and even bought me a handheld game console. I still remember exactly what she looked like.” Tears streamed down Luo Hongguo’s face. “I never imagined she was still alive. That’s right, their family happened to be visiting Kyoto when the disaster struck. They became trapped there, and later the area became Kyoto Base City.”
Luo Feng nodded.
Kyoto had probably been the place in China with the highest survival rate during the Great Nirvana.
“Xiao Feng, do you know where your great aunt is? I want to see her immediately.” Luo Hongguo said anxiously.
“Right now?” Luo Feng glanced at his mother, who nodded in agreement.
They had waited so many years.
There was no way they could wait any longer.
“Then let’s get ready and leave immediately.” Luo Feng nodded.
At a little after four that afternoon, the dark blue intelligent fighter landed within the residential area of the Limits Hall in Tianjin City, one of the eight satellite cities of Kyoto Base City.
Luo Feng did not arrange for anyone to receive them. Instead, the family of four took a car together and headed for his father’s aunt’s home.
…
“Director, intelligence from Tianjin City.”
A balding middle aged man accepted a file from one of his subordinates, dismissed him with a wave of his hand, opened the folder, and read the report.
“Luo Feng has come to Kyoto Base City?”
He was startled and immediately picked up the nearby telephone, dialling a secure line.
“Please connect me to Chief Number One.”
