It was 11:36 pm on 8 January 2059, China time. At that moment, however, it was still daytime on Mist Island in the Australian continent.
Bang!
Luo Feng burst out of the milky white lake and hovered in mid air.
“It has been almost three days since I last saw the sun.”
He looked up at the blue sky and the flocks of bird type monsters flying in the distance, then glanced down at the lake below.
“The Mu Ya Crystals have probably almost all been found by now. The first day yielded the most. The second day was much less. As for today, the third day, I have only found two so far.”
Overall, though, his gains over the past three days had been quite good.
Firstly, luck had been on his side. On one occasion, he had managed to obtain three crystals at once.
Secondly, as a planetary level spirit reader, his search efficiency ranked among the top three of everyone present.
With those two factors combined, Luo Feng had personally found five Mu Ya Crystals over the past three days. If the ones obtained through joint battles alongside Iceberg, Enchantress, the personal guards and the others were included, then the total was even higher.
“Luo Feng.”
The Hall Master’s voice came through the communication watch. Throughout the past three days, Luo Feng had kept his watch connected to the Hall Master and the others.
“Hall Master.”
“Come to my current location.”
“Yes.”
Luo Feng checked the coordinates on his communication watch.
“Hmm? He is over two thousand metres underground, somewhere along that underground river.”
Whoosh!
Luo Feng immediately dived down, smashed through the lake’s surface, and rapidly descended underground.
More than two thousand metres beneath the surface, along one section of the rushing underground river.
The man dressed in black, Hong, together with his three gold masked personal guards, Enchantress, Beast, and Iceberg, were all present. Even some of the other inspectors from the Extreme Limit Dojo had arrived.
Bang!
The rock ceiling split open, and Luo Feng dropped down. The instant his feet touched the river’s surface, he floated above it before flying over quickly.
“Hall Master.”
“Mmm. Wait a moment. There are still people who have not arrived.”
Hong nodded slightly. There was also a trace of satisfaction in the way he looked at Luo Feng.
This time, among the members of the Extreme Limit Dojo, Hong, as the world’s strongest fighter, had gained the most. The second highest earner was Luo Feng.
Luo Feng’s reputation had soared during the struggle for the Mu Ya Crystals. Every planetary level expert on Earth now knew that Luo Feng’s strength had entered the second tier.
He now stood on the same level as the Third Speaker, the Fourth Speaker, and the Fifth Speaker.
That level of strength was truly astonishing.
The Third Speaker and the Fifth Speaker were both third stage planetary fighters, while the Fourth Speaker, East, was a second stage planetary spirit reader.
Having such an outstanding subordinate under the Extreme Limit Dojo naturally made Hong very pleased.
Whoosh.
Another figure flew over. It was Liu He, one of the dojo’s inspectors.
“Hall Master.”
Liu He respectfully saluted Hong before flying over to Luo Feng and the others.
“Luo Feng, you made a fortune this time. The four of us inspectors earned nowhere near as much as you.”
“Just luck, just luck.”
Luo Feng chuckled.
At the beginning, the Hall Master had only brought Luo Feng, Enchantress, and Iceberg. Later, he summoned Beast as well.
The other five inspectors had not been sent.
However, once news of the Mu Ya Crystals gradually spread, the remaining inspectors of the Extreme Limit Dojo learned how precious they were, and that more than half of Earth’s planetary level experts had gathered at Mist Island.
Only then did Liu He, Vladimir, and the others fly over in their fighters.
Unfortunately, they had missed the initial excavation phase, so their harvests were naturally much smaller.
“Alright, everyone is here.”
Hong looked at his three personal guards and six inspectors, then immediately created a barrier around the surrounding space.
“This time, our Extreme Limit Dojo has gained quite a lot.”
A rare smile appeared on Hong’s face.
“As I said before, whoever discovers a Mu Ya Crystal and successfully obtains it receives thirty percent. Whoever secures one through battle also receives thirty percent. The remaining forty percent belongs to the dojo.”
“Beast, you personally discovered and obtained one crystal, so that counts as sixty percent, equal to 0.6. You also participated in three group battles. Based on your contributions, those total another 1.2 crystals. Therefore, you receive 1.8 Mu Ya Crystals.”
“Yes, Hall Master.”
Beast respectfully acknowledged the order.
“Enchantress, your total is 1.6 Mu Ya Crystals.”
“Iceberg, your total is 2.2 Mu Ya Crystals.”
“Liu He, your total is 0.3 Mu Ya Crystals.”
Everyone’s rewards were calculated according to their contributions.
“The last one is Luo Feng, who gained the most this time.”
“He personally obtained four Mu Ya Crystals. At sixty percent, that equals 2.4 crystals. He also participated in four group battles, contributing enough to earn another 2.1 crystals. His total is therefore 4.5 crystals.”
After announcing the figures, Hong began distributing the crystals.
Luo Feng first handed over all of his Mu Ya Crystals before receiving four back.
Enchantress received one.
Iceberg received two.
“For every Mu Ya Crystal, I will offer you twenty Stars.”
Hong spoke solemnly.
“For example, Luo Feng, you currently have four crystals in hand, with another half crystal credited to your account. That means you still have ten Stars remaining in your account. Of course, you may also exchange your Mu Ya Crystals directly.”
“The same applies to everyone else.”
“Once we return to headquarters, you may convert any fractional balance into Stars and then purchase items from me.”
Hearing this, the three personal guards and six inspectors all smiled.
“Luo Feng, you really hit the jackpot. One Mu Ya Crystal is worth twenty Stars. Your four and a half crystals are worth ninety Stars. That is enough to buy a prehistoric grade intelligent fighter.”
Liu He laughed.
“Look at me. I only earned 0.3 of a crystal, worth six Stars. Compared with you…”
“Just luck.”
Luo Feng smiled modestly.
In reality, he had personally obtained five Mu Ya Crystals, not four.
During the search, many discoveries had been public, but some people had quietly obtained crystals without anyone else noticing.
Of Luo Feng’s five personally obtained crystals, four had been witnessed by others.
Only one had been discovered entirely in secret, so Luo Feng naturally kept it hidden.
In truth, this was an unspoken rule.
If nobody else saw it, then hide it if possible.
Hong understood this principle as well.
If the water became too clear, there would be no fish.
Hong would not push matters too far.
After all, requiring those who personally obtained a crystal to hand over forty percent was already strict enough.
“There is probably nothing left beneath Mist Island now.”
Hong looked at everyone.
“Our group search ends here. Anyone who wants to return may do so. Anyone who wishes to continue trying their luck may keep searching. Whatever you find will belong entirely to you.”
“However, almost the entire underground area has already been searched, so do not expect too much.”
“Yes, Hall Master.”
After chatting briefly with one another, everyone dispersed.
Liu He and the others had arrived late and were unwilling to give up, so they continued searching.
Beast, however, planned to return to headquarters.
“You all go ahead. I am in no hurry.”
“Luo Feng, of course you are not in a hurry after earning so much. Right then, we are off to search.”
After bidding farewell to Liu He and the others, Luo Feng plunged underground.
At a depth of more than three thousand metres beneath the lake, he used his spirit force to hollow out a cave.
Then he activated his auxiliary optical computer.
“Hello.”
Luo Feng called Xu Xin.
Earth’s communication system had become extremely advanced.
Apart from special locations such as Ancient Civilisation Ruin Number 9, signals could be received even deep underground or inside magma layers.
This was one of the many technological gains recovered from the ancient civilisation ruins.
“Luo Feng, you have only just remembered to call me? Tell me, what have you been doing?”
On the video screen, Xu Xin was wrapped in a bathrobe, with her damp hair hanging over her shoulders.
“I have been in Australia these past few days.”
“Oh? I heard that countries from all over the world, as well as the HR Alliance, have all gone there.”
“What exactly are you all doing?”
“My grandfather wanted to find out, but it is classified as an SSS level secret within the HR Alliance. Even he cannot access it.”
Her face was full of curiosity.
“We have been fighting over a treasure called the Mu Ya Crystal.”
“What is a Mu Ya Crystal used for?”
“I do not know either.”
“I only know that it is priceless.”
“If you had to put a monetary value on it, not even a large passenger aircraft would be worth as much as a single Mu Ya Crystal.”
As Luo Feng strolled through the cave, he chatted casually.
“What? That cannot be true.”
Xu Xin was stunned.
“It is true.”
“The total assets of your entire Xu family are not worth as much as one Mu Ya Crystal.”
“My goodness.”
Only then did Xu Xin understand why even the head of her family was not authorised to access the information.
Luo Feng was not exaggerating.
Hong valued one Mu Ya Crystal at twenty Stars.
A single vial of Dragon Blood was worth only one Star.
Since Dragon Blood was priced at eighty billion, the value of a Mu Ya Crystal could easily be imagined.
Moreover, to every nation, Mu Ya Crystals were strategic resources even more important than nuclear weapons.
They simply could not be measured in terms of money.
No one would exchange one for cash.
They existed entirely outside the world’s economic system.
In reality, Hong’s offer of twenty Stars was actually rather low.
However, with dozens of Mu Ya Crystals appearing on Earth all at once, Hong could not realistically offer a much higher price.
“One Mu Ya Crystal is worth more than all the assets of our family.”
Xu Xin was still deeply shocked.
“Surprised?”
“More than twenty war gods have died fighting over these crystals.”
“Three council members have also died.”
“If not for the Water of Life, the death toll among the council members would probably have exceeded ten.”
Luo Feng deliberately added another shocking revelation.
“Council members? Fighters beyond the war god level? Three of them died?”
Xu Xin was completely stunned.
Meanwhile, deep inside the underground cave, Luo Feng continued strolling while watching Xu Xin’s astonished expression on the video screen.
Seeing his girlfriend so shocked was strangely amusing.
“Hmm?”
Suddenly, Luo Feng felt a sharp pain in his foot.
“What is going on?”
Cold sweat instantly appeared on his back and forehead as he flashed dozens of metres away.
He was a planetary level spirit reader.
He wore SS grade combat boots, with a layer of Black God Armour underneath.
With such protection, what kind of attack could possibly make his foot hurt?
And he had sensed absolutely nothing.
“What is it?”
Luo Feng swept the area with his spirit force.
Within the range of his spirit force, he found an object lodged in a rock exactly where he had been standing.
“What is this?”
Holding his breath, Luo Feng walked over.
He reached out and pulled the crimson fragment from the rock.
The instant he held it, he felt its immense weight.
Although it was only about the size of a palm, it weighed over a tonne.
Its density far exceeded that of any known material on Earth.
The crimson fragment had a razor sharp edge along one side.
It appeared to be a broken fragment from the blade of a sabre.
The fragment had remained embedded in the rock for who knew how many years.
When Luo Feng stepped on it just now, it had hurt his foot.
“My foot?”
He lifted his right heel and looked.
The sole of his SS grade combat boot had been sliced completely open.
A clean gap ran through it, as though an unimaginably sharp blade had cut through tofu.
“My heavens.”
Luo Feng stared at the cut in his boot, utterly stunned.
“Th… this…”
His face flushed red as he stammered.
“This is an SS grade combat boot.”
What did that mean?
It meant it could normally withstand attacks from king level monsters.
Only after enduring repeated attacks from king level monsters would it eventually crack.
Even the Mountain Drilling Awl had required Luo Feng’s twelve streams of spirit force before it could pierce SS grade armour.
Otherwise, even if a war god held the Mountain Drilling Awl personally, they still could not damage SS grade armour.
“My heavens.”
“I did not use any strength at all.”
“I was simply walking.”
“I merely stepped on it, and it sliced through my SS grade combat boot.”
Holding the crimson blade fragment, Luo Feng felt an indescribable chill.
It was as though its edge could cut through absolutely anything.
“Just how sharp is it?”
He immediately removed his combat boot.
Holding the fragment in his right hand.
Whoosh!
He casually swung it.
Slice. Slice. Slice.
Like cutting tofu, the SS grade combat boot was effortlessly sliced into thin pieces.
There was not the slightest resistance.
“I barely used any force.”
“It could not have been more than ten tonnes of strength.”
“Yet it sliced through SS grade material with ease.”
“If I used my full strength, even a Beast Emperor’s defences would probably be cut apart.”
The thought made Luo Feng shudder.
He stared at the crimson blade fragment in disbelief.
This was an unimaginably powerful weapon.
It was incomparably stronger than the Soaring Sky Shuttle.
Even a mere fragment of the weapon could slice through SS grade materials as though they were tofu.
Its power was simply overwhelming.
The complete weapon would probably be capable of threatening Beast Emperors.
It could even threaten Hong and the Thunder God.
“No.”
“This weapon is too terrifying.”
“I absolutely cannot reveal it for now.”
“If anyone discovered it, then no matter how much Hong and the Thunder God valued me, they could never allow such a heaven defying weapon to remain in my hands.”
Luo Feng understood this perfectly.
This was undoubtedly the most powerful weapon currently existing on Earth.
An utterly unbelievable weapon.
“Whose weapon was this?”
“And how did it end up shattered?”
Luo Feng gently stroked the crimson blade fragment.
He could faintly sense the ancient aura emanating from it.
It was the aura of something that had lain dormant for countless years.
