The sixth Inspector of the Extreme Dojo!
Although Luo Feng had long been mentally prepared, it would be a lie to say he was not exhilarated.
But right now, he had something even more important to do, make Li Yao and his wife pay with their lives!
“Old Liu.”
Holding his phone, Luo Feng waved slightly at Liu Yan.
“I’ll head out first.”
Liu Yan left Luo Feng’s study carrying his laptop. Only Luo Feng remained in the room.
“Is there someone else in your room?” Liu He asked with a smile.
Walking to the window, Luo Feng replied, “Yes, a person in charge from a special department of China. I just asked him for some evidence. I’m preparing to file a case through the War God Palace against Li Yao and Venina, accusing them of masterminding the attempted murder of my parents. Liu He, what punishment do you think they’ll receive in the end?”
“Oh? Those two, Vulture and Scorpion, actually dared to target a warrior’s family?” Liu He exclaimed in shock.
“Yes. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have chased them down in public,” Luo Feng said with a nod.
“No wonder.”
“Those two have gone too far.” Liu He’s voice over the phone was full of anger. “Targeting the families of warriors has always been taboo.”
“Liu He, what sentence do you think they’ll get if found guilty?” Luo Feng pressed.
“Death. Without question, death. And immediate execution!”
Liu He said angrily, “Luo Feng, don’t worry. Your status is different now. The War God Palace will directly elevate you to the rank of Councillor. As a Councillor, your status and authority are on a completely different level. Those two orchestrated harm against the parents of a Councillor. Of course they’ll be severely punished.”
“Luo Feng, you should know that the council of the War God Palace consists of fifty two Councillors and five Chairmen.”
“The verdict is decided by the council. Harming a Councillor’s family is a taboo. It’s equivalent to provoking all Councillors. They have to impose a heavy sentence. Only then can it serve as a warning to everyone.” Liu He continued, “It’s an unwritten rule. Anyone threatening the status, authority, and interests of all Councillors will face unanimous punishment.”
“So as long as the evidence is sufficient, Vulture and Scorpion have only one outcome, death, with immediate execution!” Liu He spoke at length, clearly furious.
Luo Feng secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
It was exactly as he had expected.
In truth, when Vulture and Scorpion acted, Luo Feng had not yet been a Councillor or an Inspector.
But because his status had now changed, their fate changed immediately as well.
Inside the study, files and videos filled the laptop screen.
Luo Feng carefully read and watched them.
“Hmph.”
“Their methods were actually this vicious, this unscrupulous.”
His expression darkened as he reviewed the huge volume of documents and video evidence. Every scheme Li Yao and Venina had used from beginning to end was laid out in perfect detail.
Luo Feng felt a wave of lingering fear.
Had his younger brother been even slightly less capable, their parents would truly have suffered this time.
Fortunately, his brother had been ruthless enough to use the Thousand Year Black Crow Root and personal connections to become the eighth largest shareholder of the Industrial and Commercial Bank.
In the era of base cities, it was nearly impossible to acquire large quantities of shares in China’s number one bank, the Industrial and Commercial Bank. Major powers were unwilling to sell. Money alone could not buy them.
Only a treasure like the Thousand Year Black Crow Root, something equally impossible to purchase with money, could be exchanged for such shares.
“The evidence is overwhelming.”
“Even one tenth of it is enough to prove their crimes.”
Luo Feng immediately closed the videos and documents.
He bundled all the evidence together, entered his personal page, and submitted everything to the War God Palace. In the accompanying message, he clearly listed the defendants and their crimes.
Only three minutes later, his phone rang.
Luo Feng picked it up.
“Councillor Luo Feng, hello.” A gentle female voice spoke. “We have just received your email. May we confirm that Councillor Luo Feng personally wishes to bring charges against Li Yao and Venina Polinas?”
“Yes,” Luo Feng replied.
“Very well. Once the time and location of the hearing are determined, we will notify Councillor Luo Feng.”
After the confirmation call, the staff of the War God Palace immediately began arranging the matter.
There were indeed many files and videos. Luo Feng had spent more than two hours reviewing them all.
By the time news of the matter reached Hong, the Chief Instructor of the Extreme Dojo, it was already evening.
Extreme Dojo Global Headquarters, inside the giant spaceship structure.
Within a quiet chamber.
Dressed in black, Hong held a cup of hot tea while browsing information online.
“Master!”
A deep voice echoed through the room.
“Councillor Luo Feng has submitted evidence and filed charges against Li Yao and Venina Polinas for masterminding the attempted murder of his parents.”
“Is the evidence sufficient?” Hong asked with a slight frown.
“It is.”
Hong nodded.
“Notify the three best lawyers in the Extreme Dojo and assign them to this case. Also, send Planetary level fighters to personally arrest Li Yao and Venina. The trial will be held tomorrow at 15:30 in the Supreme Court of our headquarters.”
“Luo Feng is about to publicly assume the position of Inspector of the Extreme Dojo. I want this case handled perfectly.”
“Yes.”
After that single reply, silence returned to the chamber.
That evening in Mingyue District, lights shone from countless homes.
Standing on his balcony, Luo Feng gazed up at the endless night sky and the vast river of stars.
“Hm?”
His phone rang.
Looking at the screen, he saw it was Xu Xin calling.
“Hello.”
“Why didn’t you come to pick me up?” Xu Xin asked.
“Sorry. I’ve been busy dealing with some things and only just finished. How about I come to Kyoto Base City now?” Luo Feng said apologetically.
Ever since returning, all his attention had been focused on his parents. He had completely forgotten about picking up Xu Xin.
“I’m already here, at the entrance of your Mingyue District.”
Click.
The call ended.
Luo Feng froze briefly.
Xu Xin had already travelled from Kyoto Base City all the way to his doorstep?
“I’m such an idiot.”
Cursing himself inwardly, he leapt directly from the balcony.
Like a blur streaking across the sky, aided by his spiritual force, he flew nearly a hundred metres before landing. A few more leaps brought him to within thirty metres of the entrance to Mingyue District.
At a glance, he saw her.
Under the dim glow of the streetlights at the district entrance stood a slightly frail young woman waiting quietly.
The sight made Luo Feng’s heart ache.
Since becoming his girlfriend, Xu Xin had gained no real benefits. Instead, she had endured hardship after hardship.
Even after his return, he had failed to pay attention to her, leaving her to travel thousands of miles alone.
…
Through the district gate, Xu Xin looked inside.
Her body trembled slightly.
It was winter, and it was night.
Kyoto Base City was cold too, but its air was dry. Jiangnan Base City, however, was damp and cold.
After receiving Luo Feng’s call, she had rushed to catch the earliest train and spent several hours travelling to Yangzhou City. She had not even realised that Jiangnan Base City was colder.
“Xu Xin.”
A voice sounded beside her.
Startled, she turned.
There stood the familiar figure.
Her first love.
For more than a year, especially during the last three months, she had spent every day in sorrow.
“Luo Feng!”
Her voice was hoarse.
The moment she called his name, she could no longer hold back her tears. She threw herself into his arms and held him tightly.
“I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry.”
Luo Feng embraced her and felt her tears soaking through the fabric over his chest.
In the bitter winter wind, beneath the dim streetlights…
After one year and three months, Luo Feng and Xu Xin finally met again.
Compared to Luo Feng and Xu Xin’s reunion, tinged with heartache yet warmed by affection, Li Yao and Venina were together as well, but their hearts were in turmoil.
On a passenger aircraft travelling from Jiangnan Base City to Paris Base City in Europe.
Li Yao and Venina held each other’s hands.
“This is bad.” Venina glanced around at the other passengers before lowering her voice. “He’s become a Councillor. If he decides to deal with us…”
“Don’t be afraid.”
Li Yao lowered his voice.
“We waited two or three hours for the flight in Jiangnan Base City, and nobody came for us. Once we return to Paris Base City, we’ll be on our own turf. The HR Alliance has Councillors there, and my senior is there too. It’ll be fine, absolutely fine.”
Whether he was comforting Venina or himself was unclear.
“How did this happen? How did he become a Councillor?” Venina gritted her teeth.
Li Yao’s eyes flashed with hatred.
Hatred.
Pure hatred.
“Endure it. We can only endure it.” Li Yao squeezed the words out through clenched teeth.
The aircraft finally arrived in Paris.
The sky there was dim, though not completely dark.
At Paris Base City Airport, the aircraft slowly landed. Once it came to a stop, the cabin door opened automatically and the stairs extended outward.
Passengers began disembarking one by one.
“We’re back.”
“Finally back in Paris.”
Venina revealed a faint smile.
Li Yao also smiled for the first time since learning that Luo Feng had become a Councillor.
Among the crowd, the Vulture and Scorpion couple walked down the stairs.
“Li Yao, Venina!”
A voice suddenly rang out.
Startled, the couple turned around.
Four figures were approaching.
One of the two leading figures was a middle aged man with brown curly hair and a black robe. His gaze crackled with such intensity that few dared meet it.
Beside him stood a white haired elder whose long hair draped loosely around him. His entire presence resembled a withered tree.
“Councillor Yan, Councillor Bonnet.” Venina was shocked.
“Senior.” Li Yao looked at the elder.
The elder, Yan Hai, was someone with whom Li Yao shared a deep friendship.
Councillor Bonnet looked coldly at Li Yao and Venina and said indifferently,
“We represent the War God Palace and are formally placing you under arrest. If you resist, we are authorised to kill you.”
Li Yao and Venina widened their eyes.
They had thought they were finally back on home ground.
Instead, this awaited them the moment they arrived.
“Senior!” Li Yao looked desperately at Yan Hai.
Yan Hai sighed.
“Little Vulture, this order comes from the highest levels of the War God Palace. No one can help you. You were too reckless, far too reckless. Come quietly. If you do not resist, there may still be a sliver of hope.”
An arrest carried out in the name of the War God Palace meant opposing the entire War God Palace if one resisted.
The War God Palace was the combined force of every War God and every being beyond the War God level.
Resist?
That would be suicide.
Click.
Special restraints were fastened onto Li Yao and Venina.
The couple stood dazed, but they did not resist.
“Senior, Senior…” Li Yao pleaded.
Yan Hai merely sighed and said nothing.
“Take them away.”
Councillor Bonnet issued the order coldly from the side.
