TWSBHSW Chapter 143

In the vast and desolate wilderness, monsters were constantly fighting each other, their goal being to kill and devour each other’s flesh to satisfy their hunger. Yet a human martial artist, relatively small in size compared to the monsters, advanced alone across the wasteland without avoiding any of them.

He charged straight through.

He treated those monsters like ants. Many monsters had once attacked this human warrior, but the result was only that the bloodlust on his body grew stronger. The terrifying scent of blood, especially from powerful monsters whose blood had splattered onto him, caused the monsters along his path to keep their distance the moment they saw him.

“Luo Feng.”

“Luo Feng,” Li Yao muttered under his breath like a ferocious beast.

“Keep hiding, keep hiding. You can avoid the first day, but you cannot avoid the fifteenth,” Li Yao said coldly. He had not expected that hunting down a 19-year-old youth would be so troublesome. However, because of the hatred for his son’s death, he could never let it go. If he did not kill Luo Feng, he would not even be able to sleep at night.

“Hm?”

Li Yao suddenly felt his communication watch vibrate. When he checked it, his heart jolted. “Luo Feng’s location coordinates?”

At the same time, a call came through.

“Hello,” Li Yao answered immediately.

“Yao, it is me. You have received Luo Feng’s coordinates, right?” Vina’s voice came through the communication watch.

“You confirmed this location?” Li Yao asked urgently.

“Yao, this coordinate was just obtained. Somehow, Luo Feng’s communication watch is working again. This means he must have turned it on himself. I am worried this might be a trap set by Luo Feng to lure you in,” Vina said.

“A trap?” Li Yao suddenly laughed madly.

His laughter echoed across the wilderness, and no monster dared approach this terrifying human.

“I have the Black God Suit obtained from ancient civilization ruins. No one among the God of War level can kill me. Unless it is a king level monster, a being beyond God of War, or a laser cannon. As for Luo Feng, I cannot think of any real threat from him,” Li Yao said confidently.

“Fine, whether it is a real address or not, I will go and see,” Li Yao said.

“Alright,” Vina replied.

She, too, was a high level God of War and understood her husband’s true strength.

There were only three things that could threaten Li Yao.

First, a laser cannon. But how could Luo Feng possibly obtain or operate one?

Second, a being beyond God of War. If Luo Feng could hire such an existence, there would be no need for tricks at all.

Third, a king level monster. But around such monsters, there would be countless lord level beasts. If something went wrong, Li Yao would retreat long before engaging one.

“It is 120 kilometres away,” Li Yao checked the map.

“Luo Feng, I hope you are there.”

Whoosh.

A terrifying sonic boom sounded as Li Yao turned into a black streak of light, rushing in a straight line toward the southwest. In an instant, he disappeared from sight, reaching twice the speed of sound, an extremely terrifying speed.

By the mist shrouded lake shore, a streak of light stopped and solidified into a figure. It was the cold faced God of War, Vulture Li Yao, dressed in black.

“So this Luo Feng really likes hiding. He actually chose a fog covered lake island.”

“With this much fog, a laser cannon cannot be used at all,” Li Yao sneered. In his view, Luo Feng’s actions were pointless. Since the laser cannon had already been confiscated by Extreme Limits Gym, hiding in such a place was meaningless.

Whoosh.

Li Yao leapt dozens of metres high and over a hundred metres forward, his body like a cannon shell.

Crackle, crackle.

Black light extended rapidly from his feet, forming something like a raft. Using the momentum from his leap, the Black God Suit structure allowed him to ride across the lake surface at high speed.

Sitting on the raft, Li Yao held two single blades and occasionally used them to paddle. With his terrifying arm strength, each stroke generated immense propulsion.

Roars, screeches, and strange hissing sounds came from beneath the water, but Li Yao ignored them completely. For a high level God of War, ordinary aquatic monsters were no threat.

Unfortunately, he did not know the true nature of this lake.

Suddenly, his expression changed.

A massive tail covered in purple scales, as thick as a water tank and over thirty metres long, shot out of the water like lightning. In less than a hundredth of a second, it wrapped around his raft.

Whoosh.

The raft disappeared beneath him. Li Yao’s body, now fully protected by the Black God Suit, landed on the giant scaled tail and used the force to spring into the air.

“What a long tail, what terrifying strength. That single strike is at least high level lord class. There is actually such a powerful aquatic monster here?” Li Yao was shocked.

The moment he fell back toward the water surface, blue lightning erupted.

Crackle.

Electric serpents covered the area. Li Yao’s movement in water was far weaker than on land, and he was struck directly.

“Hmph, luckily my Black God Suit blocks electricity,” Li Yao thought in relief.

But suddenly, a white thread instantly wrapped around his leg and yanked violently.

“Not good.”

His expression changed drastically. With a splash, Li Yao was dragged completely into the lake.

On the sandy beach of Mist Island, Luo Feng sat cross legged like a statue. Water from the lake occasionally washed up, but no aquatic monster dared approach the shore.

After a long time, Luo Feng opened his eyes.

“Why has Li Yao still not arrived?”

“Could it be…”

“Did he die in the lake?” Luo Feng smiled faintly. “If he really died there, it would not be surprising. Even with the Black God Suit, he might not be killed, but if he is trapped underwater by monsters and exhausts his oxygen while struggling, he could suffocate to death.”

Luo Feng looked toward the island.

Silent.

Completely silent.

“I am now almost invincible among high level Gods of War.”

“Unless it is a king level monster, I am unlikely to be killed directly.”

“Alright, I will explore this island.”

With curiosity and confidence in his strength, Luo Feng entered the island cautiously with his shield and blood shadow blade, six flying knives ready at all times.

Later, on another beach of the island.

“Die!”

A furious roar echoed. The lake surface exploded with blood, and a black figure shot into the air before landing heavily on the sand.

“Finally… I am back on land.”

The black figure lay exhausted on the beach.

After a long time, he slowly recovered.

Terrifying. Truly terrifying lake.

It was Li Yao.

His face was filled with fear as he looked at the vast lake. He had once travelled the world in his youth, even exploring far larger lakes and fighting ocean monsters. Yet he had never been so close to death.

In that underwater escape, he encountered more than ten high level lord class monsters, and even more ordinary lord class beasts. The density of powerful aquatic monsters in this lake was beyond imagination.

“This lake… what exactly is it?”

“One hundred kilometre radius, and I encountered over ten high level lord monsters. There are probably nearly a hundred in the entire lake.”

“Even the so called monster hell city in China cannot compare.”

The danger level of this place was even higher.

He coughed violently, spitting blood.

Both arms were broken, ribs fractured, and internal organs severely injured.

Even the Black God Suit could not fully protect against the crushing force underwater. He had nearly been strangled to death.

“I need to recover,” Li Yao thought bitterly. “Otherwise I will only be hurt worse if I fight again.”

He had been completely shaken by the lake.

“Vina,” he contacted his wife. “Confirm Luo Feng’s current location.”
