The spring night wind was cold, but for a moment Wang Xingping felt as if his head had turned to mush, his face burning intensely.
“I really must have had the worst luck in eight lifetimes. The world’s number one training camp only recruits such a tiny number of students globally. In Jiangnan Base City, there is only one every few years. And I actually ran into one, and even threatened him…”
If Wang Xingping were the clan head of the Wang family, he would still have the qualifications to threaten the other party.
But the true authority of the Wang family was held by his grandfather.
His grandfather had several sons, and more than ten grandsons. Although he was the direct eldest grandson, his status was only slightly higher than the others. In such a large family, selecting a future leader was never about age. Internal competition was extremely intense, and eventually the family would decide on a first heir, second heir, and so on.
The grandfather would step down, and the father generation would take over.
Only after decades of the father generation ruling would it be the turn of the grandchildren.
Let alone him not being the clan head, even if he were, he would still need decades more of waiting.
“The power I can actually use is only a very small portion of the family’s resources.” Wang Xingping gritted his teeth. “If the family finds out I actually went up against a student of the ‘world’s number one training camp’, they would immediately make me apologise in person, and send people to negotiate with Luo Feng to settle things peacefully.”
This was the rule of large families, and Wang Xingping knew it very well.
If you cannot kill your opponent, you make them your ally.
And Luo Feng was about to enter the global headquarters of the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo. There, even the five major countries would not dare to send forces in. Because that place belonged to the world’s strongest man, “Hong”. The name Hong carried more deterrence than nuclear weapons.
“Hey, Brother Wang, what are you thinking about?” Heng Xia urged with a smile.
Wang Xingping took a deep breath, looked at Luo Feng, then bowed deeply and said, “Luo Feng, I was at fault this time. Please do not take it to heart.”
He apologised.
Wang Xingping had actually bowed to apologise.
“What, what, what is going on?” Heng Xia stared blankly at Wang Xingping, then at Luo Feng. Even if he were blind, he could tell something was wrong. Luo Feng looked at Heng Xia and smiled, “It is nothing, just a misunderstanding with Young Master Wang. Everyone, I still have things to do, so I will take my leave.”
With that, Luo Feng turned and walked away along the shaded path.
Seeing him leave, Heng Xia lowered his voice and said, “Brother Wang, what happened? Did you offend Luo Feng?”
“I really made a huge loss of face this time.” Wang Xingping straightened up. “But Heng Xia, thank you for this. If you had not told me his identity, I might have offended him badly without even knowing.”
Right now Luo Feng had no power to retaliate against him. But a few years later, once Luo Feng became a War God and rose within the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo, dealing with a young spoiled member of the Wang family would be extremely easy.
Compared to the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo, not just one Wang family, even the entire HR Alliance would have to lower their heads.
……
“Damn it, damn it, damn it!!!”
Back at the hotel, Wang Xingping suddenly swept all the expensive bottles of wine off the wine cabinet. One by one, the high priced bottles smashed into the wall or the floor with sharp cracking sounds. In the corner of the room, Butler An stood silently without speaking.
After venting his rage, Wang Xingping collapsed onto the sofa.
“Uncle An, get me a pair of twin sisters.” His eyes were cold, like a wolf. Whenever he encountered trouble, he liked to release his frustration.
“Young master…” Butler An could not help but speak.
“Do not worry, no one will die.” Wang Xingping turned his head and looked coldly at him. Under that gaze, the butler did not dare say more.
“Yes.” Butler An immediately left the room.
After that incident, Luo Feng simply treated it as a joke and forgot about it.
In the following days, he spent most of his time training in the Nine Layer Thunder Blade technique. Time passed quietly like flowing water, and before he knew it, it was already 28 March, the day Luo Feng would leave the base city.
At 1:30 PM on 28 March, Jiangnan Base City Airport.
“Xiao Feng, take care of yourself when you get there,” Luo Hongguo said in a low voice.
“Got it, Dad.” Luo Feng smiled slightly.
Gong Xinlan had tears in her eyes, holding Luo Feng’s hand. “Xiao Feng, be careful!”
In truth, every time Luo Feng entered the wilderness, his family worried. But over time, especially living in Mingyue Community full of martial artists, his parents gradually understood.
This was the path of a martial artist.
“Luo Feng, come and check in,” came the voice of War God Yang Hui from afar.
“I am coming,” Luo Feng replied.
He gently patted his younger brother Luo Hua’s head. “Luo Hua, while I am away, you must help take care of our parents.”
“Mm!” Luo Hua nodded seriously.
After that, Luo Feng glanced at his parents and quickly ran toward the security checkpoint. Not far away, Heng Xia was also saying goodbye to his parents. Then Luo Feng, Heng Xia, and War God Yang Hui passed through security together. Under the gaze of Extreme Martial Arts Dojo officials, Heng Xia’s family, and Luo Feng’s family, they walked down the corridor and disappeared.
……
There was only one huge flying saucer shaped passenger aircraft at the entire airport. They entered directly through a passage into the plane.
“Mr Yang, your seats are in the top luxury cabin,” a beautiful flight attendant said with a smile.
“Mm.” Yang Hui nodded slightly and walked upstairs.
This was the first time both Luo Feng and Heng Xia had taken such a large aircraft, and they looked around curiously. The interior felt almost dreamlike, divided into upper, middle, and lower levels because of its circular structure.
The top level was the luxury cabin.
The middle and lower levels were standard cabins.
“Circular?” Luo Feng noticed as soon as he entered that everything was arranged in a ring shape, layer upon layer. In the central open space, there was even a 3D holographic projection.
“Seat E21.”
This was Luo Feng’s seat. He, Heng Xia, and Yang Hui sat together in a row.
“This is your first time flying. The cost is covered by the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo,” Yang Hui said. “Next time you fly, you will need to pay for your own ticket. Flights from the six base cities to headquarters cost 10 million Chinese yuan for economy class and 20 million for luxury class.”
Luo Feng silently sighed.
No wonder ordinary wealthy people rarely take it. Even people with tens of millions in assets would hesitate.
“What is the difference between luxury and economy?” Heng Xia could not help asking.
“The seat width and comfort,” Yang Hui replied with a smile.
“I do not feel it is much wider,” Heng Xia said in confusion.
“That is because you have never experienced how cramped economy class is,” Yang Hui laughed. “There are very few large aircraft in the world. Each one is extremely expensive to build and maintain. So economy class is packed to maximise seats. Legs cannot even stretch properly.”
Heng Xia blinked.
Luo Feng shook his head. Just for a bit more space, the price doubles. But for real high level people on Earth, 10 or 20 million made little difference.
With a low rumbling sound, the aircraft finally took off. The circular cabin was fully sealed with no windows, so they could not see outside. In the central area, a newly released film began playing via 3D holographic projection.
“If you want to watch, wear headphones. If not, just rest. It takes a little over an hour to reach headquarters,” Yang Hui said before closing his eyes.
……
After about one hour and twenty minutes, the aircraft landed at the global headquarters of the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo, Hongning Base City.
After exiting the airport, they took a private vehicle.
Inside a stretched Cadillac, Luo Feng and Heng Xia looked outside through the windows in amazement. The entire base city was extremely beautiful, with architectural styles inspired entirely by ancient Chinese designs, pavilions and towers everywhere.
“During the Great Nirvana period, the Hall Master and his followers built a simple human settlement here, allowing refugees to survive. Over time, Hongning Base City continued to expand,” Yang Hui explained with a smile. “It is located in western Asia, close to Europe.”
“Because of the Hall Master, Hongning Base City is the safest city in the world.”
“Every year many wealthy people and martial artists join this city. However, the Hall Master strictly controls the population. Right now there are only 80 million people. Without that control, it could easily reach 200 to 300 million.”
“But quality matters more than quantity.”
“The proportion of martial artists produced here is the highest in the world.”
“To this day, not a single king level beast dares to disturb this city,” Yang Hui said confidently.
Luo Feng and Heng Xia were both filled with amazement.
There are five major countries and 23 base cities in the world. Hong alone controls one city, and with the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo under him, plus his own unmatched strength, Hong is unquestionably the strongest person on Earth.
Strongest in power, strongest in authority.
“The training camp is here. We are getting off,” Yang Hui said. “This is the elite training camp. Heng Xia, you can also come in and take a look. Work hard, maybe you will get in one day.”
“Mm,” Heng Xia said, unable to hide his excitement.
Luo Feng and Heng Xia got out of the car and followed Yang Hui into the wide training camp entrance.
The moment they entered, they saw a massive black dragon carving. A nearly fifty metre tall black dragon stared at Luo Feng, an endless dark pressure crashing down on him, making him feel suffocated. Heng Xia beside him also turned pale. Yang Hui gave a light shout, and they both snapped out of it.
“It is just a carving and you are already scared?” Yang Hui laughed.
Sweat appeared on Luo Feng’s forehead. The pressure from this dragon carving was even more terrifying than the Iron Armoured Dragon. On its scales were small display screens, each showing a name.
“No.1 Renates & Bridge (530321)”
“No.2 Chu Qiang (540601)”
“No.3 Eben & Pass (520916)”
……
“No.182 Jacqueline & Bernard (570319)”
From top to bottom, every scale showed a name. A total of 182 names.
Yang Hui smiled and said, “This is the ranking. Right now there are 182 students in the elite training camp, all top geniuses from around the world. Their rankings are based on combat points. Luo Feng, if you pass the B level assessment, you will need to work hard to climb higher.”
