After saying this, Luo Chen ignored Lin Hualong and simply walked away on his own.
Lin Hualong, on the other hand, was now feeling completely overwhelmed. The situation had grown serious and was now difficult to handle.
He had not walked far before his mobile phone rang. It was Xu Shuiyao calling.
“Thank goodness you are still alive. That is wonderful news,” Xu Shuiyao said with a sigh of relief on the other end of the line.
“Where are you? I will come and pick you up,” Xu Shuiyao asked.
Luo Chen told her his location. Less than half an hour later, Xu Shuiyao arrived in her car.
Du Dong and Feng Huan were no longer in the vehicle.
“Aren’t you worried about what your best friend will say, coming all this way to find me?” Luo Chen teased.
“That is no longer an issue,” Xu Shuiyao replied, shaking her head.
“We are actually very close to Lake Rakshastal. I got into an argument with them once we reached the town over there,” Xu Shuiyao said, shaking her head again.
She felt that abandoning Luo Chen was utterly disgraceful, especially since he had not abandoned them the night before.
This had eventually led to a heated dispute.
In the end, Xu Shuiyao had decided she needed to come and find Luo Chen.
“Do not worry. Du Dong has acquaintances over there, so they will definitely be fine and safe,” Xu Shuiyao sighed, suddenly feeling a sense of regret over the people she had associated with.
Only after arriving did she realise that Du Dong had ties with some rather shady characters in the area. This instantly made her feel she had misjudged him completely.
Luo Chen, however, did not pay it much mind. He leaned against the car, gazing out the window at the flawlessly blue sky. The air in the Tibetan region was actually quite pleasant. The sky was a deep blue, and the clouds were pure white.
He just had to kill someone!
This small town was not only close to the Ghost Lake, Rakshastal, but also quite near to the sacred Mount Kailash. From the town, one could clearly see the snow capped peaks of the holy mountain.
As soon as they stepped out of the car, they ran into Du Dong and his group. The area had been packed recently. It was clear that the Lotus Assembly had not only attracted numerous tourists, but also several eminent monks from the Tibetan region who were arriving one after another.
Consequently, accommodation was scarce, and it turned out that Du Dong and Xu Shuiyao were staying at the same inn.
“Well, well. The hero has actually returned triumphant? Tsk, tsk. Where are the people you saved?” Du Dong asked with a mocking smile.
Luo Chen had no desire to pay attention to such an idiot. Du Dong was practically dead already, so why bother speaking to a corpse?
Xu Shuiyao, however, was rather displeased. She kept a straight face and spoke.
“Du Dong, do not go too far.”
“Luo Chen, let us go inside first. Ignore him,” Xu Shuiyao said, fearing he might get angry. She pulled him and walked away.
Du Dong merely gave a cold laugh behind them.
“Hmph. Still pretending to be a hero. What absolute nonsense.”
“And you, Xu Shuiyao, you loose woman. Sooner or later, I will get you into my bed,” Du Dong muttered curses as he followed them inside.
Meanwhile, Lin Hualong called someone to pick him up while simultaneously ringing Su Lingchu.
“Brother Su, I need your help with something,” Lin Hualong said, getting straight to the point.
“Heh. Brother Lin, why on earth would you need my help?” Su Lingchu replied, his tone rather sharp.
Su Lingchu still remembered the incident with the Blood Corpse King. He had called Lin Hualong first, but Lin had used an excuse to push it away. Only after that did Su Lingchu ask Sister Yang for assistance.
“Brother Su, this situation is quite tricky,” Lin Hualong said in a serious tone. Regardless of Su’s thoughts, he decided to explain the matter first.
After hearing it all, Su Lingchu could not help but draw a sharp breath.
“I never realised it would become this serious and escalate to this extent,” Su Lingchu acknowledged.
Moreover, he had heard of the Vajra Master.
He was truly a figure bordering on legend.
How could one possibly provoke him lightly?
“I can only try my best to persuade him on your behalf. I cannot make any guarantees,” Su Lingchu sighed.
Having interacted with Luo Chen for so long, he knew a fair bit about his temperament. When Luo Chen decided to kill someone, he simply did it. There was absolutely no room for negotiation.
Su Lingchu then quickly rang Luo Chen. Naturally, he was more concerned about Luo Chen’s safety.
After all, that was the Vajra Master. If Luo Chen went up against such a person, he would truly have no chance of survival.
However, as soon as Luo Chen saw it was Su Lingchu calling, he guessed exactly what was happening.
He promptly hung up on him.
Su Lingchu gave a bitter laugh. Across all of China, very few people dared to hang up on him.
Even fewer were those who hung up on him yet made him dare not feel angry.
Unfortunately, Luo Chen happened to be one of those very few individuals.
Luo Chen did not mind it at all. Just then, Xu Shuiyao knocked on his door to ask him to come downstairs for dinner.
When he arrived at the lobby downstairs, it was already packed with all sorts of people.
Many of them had significant backgrounds, but the main topic of conversation remained the Lotus Assembly.
After all, the stakes were high this time. If they messed up and allowed that foreign spirit communicator to succeed, many people would likely suffer dire consequences.
The challenger had issued a formal challenge to the entire Tibetan region. How could they possibly refuse it?
“That spirit communicator is said to be an ascetic monk. He has a formidable background and achieved fame abroad long ago,” someone remarked, apparently knowing a few details.
Rumour had it that the ascetic had bathed in icy mountain springs and practised severe asceticism on Mount Everest for years. Sitting motionless in the freezing snow and ice, he had already mastered extraordinary abilities. There were even claims that he had achieved the supernatural power of surviving without food for short periods.
This sounded rather terrifying.
Mount Everest attracted crowds of people every year who tried to conquer it, but you could easily be conquered by the mountain instead!
The greatest danger on Everest was not the lack of oxygen or the steep terrain. It was the fact that you could freeze to death.
If you climbed the mountain and failed to descend in time, once the temperature dropped, you would remain there forever.
Everyone who had attempted the climb knew that the route was littered with the frozen corpses of those who perished.
That was the clearest proof.
Yet, if someone meditated and trained in such an environment year round, it was easy to see how terrifying his abilities must be. He had already pushed past human limits and was essentially battling the natural elements.
“Fortunately, our Great Master Labuyangzong has agreed to invite the Vajra Master to step in this time. Otherwise, I fear no one would be able to fight that spirit communicator.”
An elderly man said this. He was a practitioner from Qinghai and was considered a prominent figure among the cultivators in that region. He was even quite renowned throughout the entire province.
Regrettably, at his advanced age, he had not even touched the threshold of entering the Dao. Therefore, he held the already enlightened Great Master Labuyangzong in the highest regard.
As for the Vajra Master, he was viewed as a completely godlike figure in his eyes.
Luo Chen and Xu Shuiyao were eating while listening to their conversation.
Unexpectedly, Du Dong suddenly walked over at that moment.
He then looked at Luo Chen with a cold sneer.
“What is it?”
“Hero, were you not saying you intended to cause trouble for Great Master Labuyangzong?” Du Dong deliberately raised his voice. Instantly, the entire lobby fell silent. Everyone turned their eyes towards Luo Chen.
