When Luo Chen pushed open the door the whole house was full of people and Luo Chen’s father was wearing an apron bustling about in the kitchen.
Oh little Chen you are back. A man in his forties stood up and spoke.
The man wore a neat suit with a bright red tie that looked particularly eye catching. He had a centre parting hairstyle that felt especially odd.
This was Luo Chen’s uncle Luo Da Fu.
Luo Da Fu’s already small beady eyes became even smaller when he smiled yet they gave off a sly treacherous look.
Besides him there was Luo Da Fu’s youngest son Luo Ming Shu. Luo Ming Shu wore a black suit but had a thick gold chain as wide as a thumb around his neck. He looked as if he was afraid others would not know he was rich now.
This left Luo Chen somewhat speechless. Next to him sat a woman dressed in flashy clothes who looked about thirty. She seemed to be Luo Ming Shu’s girlfriend but Luo Chen could tell at a glance that she came from the red light district.
The rest were a group of seven or eight people from Luo Chen’s second aunt’s family. They were cracking melon seeds and drinking tea by themselves paying no attention to Luo Chen at all.
How is everything little Chen. Luo Da Fu stood up and asked. He deliberately straightened his tie then waved the watch on his wrist in front of Luo Chen.
What do you mean how is everything. Luo Chen frowned inwardly but with his father present he could only reply.
I mean your job in Tongzhou.
In fact Luo Da Fu had asked on purpose.
The whole Luo family knew that Luo Chen had gone to Tongzhou to work as a minor clerk in a company.
Now that Luo Da Fu asked this way it was clearly malicious. He was setting a trap for Luo Chen to embarrass him in front of everyone and show off at the same time.
Not much just messing around. Luo Chen answered.
Little Chen it is fine. Young people should be impulsive a few times or their youth would be wasted.
But then again you are not young anymore. Your uncle has been through it all and should not lecture you but we are family and I am saying this for your own good so do not take it to heart. Look at you now with nothing achieved. You have been out of university for some time already. Why not follow Yuan Fei and work with him. You do not know yet but he is about to become the director soon. Getting you in there would be just a word from him. Luo Da Fu was already comparing Luo Chen with his own son and making it sound nice.
Thank you but I am not considering that. Luo Chen refused directly.
Then why not work with your younger cousin Ming Shu. He has not done too badly either. He started his own company and makes around a hundred thousand a month. When Luo Da Fu said this his tone already carried obvious arrogance.
As soon as these words came out Luo Chen’s second aunt’s side also chimed in.
Big brother why not introduce my daughter as well.
Xiao Hui has not graduated from university yet right. Do not worry I will definitely arrange something for her later.
At this moment second aunt’s daughter Xiao Hui stood up and looked at Luo Chen.
Brother Chen did you bring me a gift this time you came back.
When Luo Chen had just entered the door earlier she had completely ignored him yet now she was asking for a gift.
Moreover Luo Chen had no good feelings towards his second aunt’s family. In his previous life after Luo Chen became disabled although they had not mocked him like his uncle’s family they had also ignored his father.
When his father had gone to borrow money they had not been willing to lend him any and they had not even repaid the money they owed his father from before.
No. Luo Chen replied coldly. In his previous life he had not understood but after experiencing life in a rundown shack beside a rubbish dump Luo Chen had seen through human warmth and coldness as well as the ways of the world.
Brother Chen you are really stingy. Brother Ming Shu gave me an LV bag just a couple of days ago look. As she spoke second aunt’s daughter took out the bag to show off.
But Luo Chen glanced at it and saw at once that it was a fake.
Enough do not interrupt me. Little Chen why not consider starting a company with your cousin. After all you have a ready made place now. Luo Da Fu’s words made his intention very clear. He had his eye on the factory building at Luo Chen’s home.
Although it was outside the city now that construction was planned the government had already included it in the area which meant it would soon be demolished.
According to the scale and land area of that factory the government would subsidise at least five to eight million after demolition.
When Luo Da Fu said this Luo Chen really recalled the matter.
In his previous life in order to raise money for Luo Chen his father had borrowed a high interest loan. Later to repay the loan Luo Da Fu had stepped forward on his own and offered to help repay it.
But he had set a condition that his father give him half the shares in the factory. At the time his father had not known better and had truly believed him.
Later when Luo Chen became disabled his father had planned to sell the factory to treat him but Luo Da Fu had disagreed since half the shares were now with him.
Luo Da Fu had offered his father twenty thousand and the factory would belong to him.
At that time his father was desperately short of money and had no choice but to agree.
In this way Luo Da Fu had obtained a factory worth a million for just five hundred and thirty thousand.
Then when demolition came he had sold it for over seven million.
In the past Luo Chen had not understood but now if he still did not understand his ten thousand years of cultivation would have been in vain.
It was obvious that because of Luo Yuan Fei they must have learned some inside information or news in advance.
That was why they had set a trap for his father and now Luo Chen even suspected that the people who had lent his father the high interest loan might have been found by Luo Da Fu’s family.
Looking at it this way the whole thing was completely a conspiracy.
Thinking of this Luo Chen could not help but sneer coldly. Everything he had lost in his previous life he would take back in this life.
Although a few million or that factory meant nothing to Luo Chen after all he could sell a random house for tens of millions.
But that factory was the result of his father’s hard work over most of his life. How could Luo Chen tolerate it being schemed away by others like this.
Forget it I am not considering this matter either. Luo Chen refused indifferently.
Why is this child so stubborn. Third brother you should talk to him properly later. He is already this old how can he achieve nothing. Luo Da Fu said.
At this moment Luo Chen’s father happened to come out carrying dishes.
I gave this boy a million as start up capital. He has been doing quite well in Tongzhou and I am quite satisfied. Luo Chen’s father smiled but did not go into details.
Oh so that million really was spent by little Chen. When Luo Da Fu heard this he was not unhappy at all. In fact he was very pleased.
Then Luo Ming Shu walked out of Luo Chen’s house and started making a phone call in the corridor.
Hello you lot come straight to the door with people to demand the money later.
Yes it is confirmed he spent that million. Now these father and son definitely have no money and cannot repay it.
However what Luo Ming Shu did not know was that every word had been heard by Luo Chen without missing a single one. A mocking smile then crossed Luo Chen’s lips.
