Chapter Seven Hundred and Ninety-Two
Zhao Haibo’s extensive search made countless passengers on the Seven-Coloured Treasure Ship aware that Zhong Wei was on this vessel. This caused wave after wave of commotion. The already somewhat chaotic ship became even more disorderly, with many people searching everywhere for Zhong Wei.
Zhong Wei’s reputation in the Mortal Dust Domain was too resounding, especially within tens of thousands of miles of this area. She was the idol of countless people.
Zhong Wei had an enviable background, peerless beauty, and stunning dance skills. Most importantly, this woman was like a hibiscus blooming in clear water, so pure and beautiful.
Those fortunate enough to have seen her felt only adoration and protectiveness toward this beautiful woman. She was the goddess in the hearts of millions, and countless people would willingly exhaust their family fortunes just to catch a glimpse of her.
And this goddess whom they admired in their hearts was actually on this treasure ship. What was more unexpected was that she had gone missing here.
Under the extensive searching of everyone, the entire treasure ship became noisy. Even in the Heaven Grade Pavilion, it was no longer as quiet as before. Everyone was guessing where Zhong Wei had gone. One could see this woman’s influence.
“If you cannot find her, none of you need come back.” Zhao Haibo lost his temper on the treasure ship, slapped one of his subordinates, and cursed at his men who had found nothing.
Ye Chu stood at the bow of the ship, unaffected by the outside commotion. He stood there gazing at the magnificent spatial storms in the distance, watching the brilliant colours that bloomed as they churned.
“You know where our young lady is, do you not?” A voice rang beside Ye Chu’s ear. Ye Chu turned to see Zhong Wei’s two attendants standing behind him.
Ye Chu turned around, his gaze moving away from Zhou Kayang and landing on Cui Zhu. This woman’s figure was quite exquisite, a beauty.
Cui Zhu saw Ye Chu looking her up and down, especially lingering on her chest. She could not help frowning. Taking a deep breath, she said, “When the young lady disappeared, you were with her at the bow. You must have seen where the young lady went?”
“If I said I do not know, would you believe me?” Ye Chu smiled at this beauty. Though not stunning, she was at least pleasing to the eye.
“I do not believe it! You were right here at the time. We saw with our own eyes that after you came out, you did not return to the Heaven Grade Pavilion.” Zhou Kayang was also somewhat displeased. These past days this youth had been imitating their young lady, standing here in silence. Did he think this would make the young lady look at him differently? With this ordinary appearance, he was not even qualified to stand beside the young lady.
Among the young lady’s admirers, how many were stunning figures who shook the world.
“Since you do not believe me, why ask so many questions?” Ye Chu looked at them and said, “If I wanted to speak, I would have told Zhao Haibo long ago. Would I still be waiting for you?”
Hearing Ye Chu’s words, Zhou Kayang’s face suddenly changed. “You must not tell Zhao Haibo. The young lady left precisely to avoid him.”
“But I am afraid of him. If I tell you and not him, would he not come looking for trouble with me?” Ye Chu looked at Zhou Kayang with a smile.
“You… coward!” Cui Zhu looked at Ye Chu with a snort, her face full of contempt. “Do you believe that I will tell Zhao Haibo right now that you know where the young lady is but are deliberately hiding it? When that happens, being afraid of him will make you wish you were dead.”
“That ruthless?” Ye Chu looked at Cui Zhu and said.
Cui Zhu glanced at Ye Chu. She had no good feelings toward Ye Chu, and her threatening intent was expressed without concealment. “If you tell us, we will keep it confidential for you. Otherwise, do not blame us for telling Zhao Haibo.”
This sentence made Ye Chu’s expression somewhat dazed. His gaze secretly glanced toward the direction of the ship’s groove. This glance from Ye Chu instantly made Cui Zhu and Zhou Kayang show delight. Without bothering with Ye Chu, they directly walked toward that direction, sliding down toward the ship’s groove.
After seeing the two slide down, Ye Chu saw Zhao Haibo bringing people toward this side. Seeing that the two still had some shadow remaining, he very cleverly stood at an angle that blocked Zhao Haibo’s line of sight. In a short moment, the two disappeared into the ship’s groove.
“You truly did not see Miss Zhong Wei?” Zhao Haibo saw Ye Chu and could not help asking.
“You have searched for so long without finding her. Do you think I hid her?” Ye Chu looked at the other party and asked.
“That I do not worry about. You do not have such courage, nor could you hide a person!” Zhao Haibo swept a glance at Ye Chu. “I only want to know, where did you last see Zhong Wei?”
“Right here!” Ye Chu pointed at the position where he stood, thinking that he was not lying. The last time he saw her was indeed at the bow of the ship.
Zhao Haibo frowned, unable to understand how she had suddenly disappeared. They had searched for so long without finding her.
“Hmph! To become his woman, yet with such a temperament. Looks like he will need to watch her even more strictly in the future.” Zhao Haibo snorted angrily, ignored Ye Chu, and led his people to search the surroundings.
Seeing Zhao Haibo about to walk toward the direction of the ship’s groove, Ye Chu thought that if he saw the groove, he might discover something, despite the groove being so inconspicuous.
Ye Chu stepped forward a few steps, standing right above the ship’s groove, his body blocking the other party’s line of sight. Shifting his gaze away, he led the group to pass by.
Watching the group leave, a sudden collision resounded. A spatial storm of considerable force struck the treasure ship. The ship shook several times. Ye Chu, standing at the edge, also fell into the ship’s groove due to the tilt. After falling in, Ye Chu did not leap up but slid down along the groove.
Sliding all the way down for over a hundred metres, Ye Chu saw there were still several hundred metres below. He reached out and grabbed a small protrusion beside him.
This protrusion twisted when Ye Chu grabbed it. With the twist, a crack barely wide enough for a person appeared in the ship’s groove. Ye Chu was astonished in his heart, then turned and walked into it.
Just as Ye Chu entered, the crack closed up.
Ye Chu examined the place he had entered. It was a space of only three or four square metres. Three sides were built of hard metal, but one side was built of a transparent substance. Through it Ye Chu could see the brilliance of the spatial storms outside.
But this was not what concerned Ye Chu. What astonished him was the figure standing there. This beautiful figure looked at Ye Chu blankly. “You followed me?”
Zhong Wei’s tone carried some displeasure.
“Big Aunt, you need to think clearly. You have been missing for several days. Did I follow you for several days before arriving? I only saw you slide down and was curious what good place here could make Zhao Haibo and his group unable to find you for days. I casually grabbed a protrusion, never expecting that you would be here when I entered.” Ye Chu answered the other party, “Alright, you stay hidden here. I am leaving first!”
