“Senior Brother Ye Chu! Have you found a suitable place to establish your cave dwelling?” Disciple Wang Peng, following behind Ye Chu, was already panting from exhaustion. He had accompanied Ye Chu across several mountains, yet Ye Chu had not taken a liking to any of them. He had even taken Ye Chu to Jade Mountain, where the heavenly and earthly vital energy was several times stronger than that of other mountains. He had originally thought that such a mountain would surely satisfy Ye Chu for establishing a cave dwelling.
But he had not expected Ye Chu to refuse again, which made Wang Peng somewhat impatient.
“I want that one!” Ye Chu pointed at a cliff face on a mountain and spoke to Wang Peng.
Wang Peng frowned. He had actually noticed long ago that Ye Chu favoured that particular spot. However, he had dodged the issue with various excuses, never expecting Ye Chu to still want that location.
“Senior Brother! Perhaps you should reconsider. Jade Mountain is most suitable for establishing a cave dwelling. The heavenly and earthly spiritual energy there is the most abundant. Cultivating there for one day is equivalent to cultivating for ten days in the outside world.” Wang Peng said with a smile, his mouth full of amusement.
Ye Chu smiled and replied, “I am aware of that. However, I still wish to establish my cave dwelling there!”
Ye Chu gazed at that mountain cliff, where a large section protruded outward. In time, he could carve a cave dwelling there. Each morning, sitting on the protruding giant rock, he could overlook the mountain below, absorb the essence of the dawn light, and likewise feel the brilliance of the starry sky. Ye Chu had taken a liking to that spot the moment he first saw it. Its high location offered a wide view. This might hold no particular appeal for others, but Ye Chu was very fond of it.
Seeing Ye Chu so determined, Wang Peng thought for a moment, then finally gritted his teeth and spoke the truth to Ye Chu. “Senior Brother Ye Chu, a hundred metres beyond this location is the cave dwelling of Senior Brother Wang De. Senior Brother Wang De has always preferred tranquility and dislikes being disturbed. Therefore, within a five hundred metre radius of his cave dwelling, he does not allow outsiders to enter. Let alone allowing you to establish a cave dwelling there. So, Senior Brother Ye Chu, please choose another location.”
“According to the rules of the Sha Ling Pavilion, do I have the qualification to select a cave dwelling here?” Ye Chu asked Wang Peng.
“You naturally have the qualification. The mountains I have brought you to are places where senior brothers may establish cave dwellings at will. However…”
Wang Peng had not finished speaking when Ye Chu interrupted him. “As long as I am not violating the rules, then I will select that location.”
As Ye Chu spoke, he stepped forward and walked briskly towards that area.
“Senior Brother Ye Chu!” Wang Peng grew anxious. He knew Wang De’s temperament very well. Wang De could not tolerate even a speck of dust in his eye. If Ye Chu truly acted this way, it would absolutely infuriate Wang De. Though they were fellow disciples, Wang De would not go so far as to kill Ye Chu. However, giving Ye Chu a severe lesson, beating him so badly that he could not leave his bed for a month or two, was not at all impossible.
Ye Chu had reached the King realm and possessed formidable strength. Yet Wang De’s strength was even more terrifying. His mastery of the Sha Ling arts was profound and subtle. Though he was only at the third level of the King realm, he had already slain numerous Kings.
Excluding those top tier senior brothers, Wang De ranked within the top five among the Blue Jade generation. For Ye Chu to provoke Wang De right from the start would lead to no good outcome for him.
But Wang Peng simply could not stop him in time. Ye Chu leapt onto this mountain, jumped down the cliff, and stood upon that giant rock on the cliff face. Ye Chu stood at the summit of the giant rock. The mountain wind was fierce, blowing Ye Chu’s robes until they fluttered in the air. “Senior Brother!” Wang Peng called out, hoping Ye Chu would choose another place. But Ye Chu simply did not listen to him. Power surged from his hand, and he launched a fierce strike against the mountain wall.
The strike instantly blasted away the green stone of the cliff. Countless rock fragments flew in all directions. A tremendous roar erupted, causing the entire mountain to tremble several times.
“It is finished!” Watching Ye Chu continuously strike to carve out his cave dwelling, Wang Peng could not help but shake his head with a wry smile. He thought that such a commotion would absolutely alert Wang De.
“So be it! In any case, I have fulfilled my duty. As for the consequences, you are responsible for them yourself.” Wang Peng shook his head and gave up trying to dissuade Ye Chu. If Ye Chu would not listen to his advice, then in the end, it would not be him who suffered the loss.
The commotion of establishing the cave dwelling was considerable. Flying rock fragments whipped up a hurricane. Ye Chu continuously used his power to carve, making it appear grand and impressive.
Just as Ye Chu was preparing to use the giant rock to craft a stone bed, a sudden roar erupted. “Which damned fellow is disturbing this grandfather’s cultivation here!”
Following this furious shout, a rough looking man shot out from somewhere. In merely a few breaths, he arrived beside the cliff.
“Senior Brother Wang De!” Wang Peng respectfully bowed to the man.
Wang De did not even glance at him. His gaze fell upon Ye Chu. “Where did you little brat come from? Do you not know this is this grandfather’s forbidden area? I give you ten breaths to get lost, otherwise this grandfather will bury you beneath these stones!”
Ye Chu glanced at Wang De, then smiled. “Ye Chu greets Senior Brother! Disturbing Senior Brother while establishing my cave dwelling, Ye Chu apologises for this. I hope Senior Brother can bear with me for a moment. The cave dwelling will be completed very soon.”
“Who allowed you to establish a cave dwelling here? Furthermore, where did you come from, you disciple? Hmph. Disciples who can establish cave dwellings are all of the Blue Jade generation. Where did you little brat come from? This grandfather has never seen you before.” Wang De roared.
Ye Chu took out his Blue Jade and held it in his hand. “I only joined today. I hope Senior Brother will look after me.”
Wang De looked puzzled. His gaze shifted to Wang Peng. Wang Peng quickly replied. “Senior Brother Ye Chu has just joined. He comes from Mo Huang. His strength is extraordinary, which is why the elder granted him the Blue Jade.”
“That fellow Mo Huang can actually train a Blue Jade disciple? What a joke?” Wang De said with contempt. He clearly did not hold Mo Huang in high regard.
Wang Peng turned his head and pretended not to hear. Wang De’s status and position naturally allowed him to speak this way. But Wang Peng himself could not yet comment on the merits or faults of a Huang level expert.
“Get lost! Within a five hundred metre radius, I do not wish to see any strangers!” Wang De shouted at Ye Chu.
“My apologies!” Ye Chu lazily leaned against the stone tablet and smiled at Wang De. “According to the rules, I have the full right to establish a cave dwelling here. If I have disturbed Senior Brother, I apologise. But for me to leave, Senior Brother does not yet have the qualification!”
These words made Wang De’s eyes widen. He glared at Ye Chu and roared. “This grandfather does not repeat himself. Get lost!”
“I will not repeat myself either. Establishing a cave dwelling here is excellent. I am very fond of it!” Ye Chu spoke, ignoring Wang De. He struck out with his power once more, blasting out a vast cave dwelling. Ye Chu continuously used his power to carve.
“Good, good, good!” Wang De laughed with fury. “This grandfather has never been provoked like this before. You are arrogant enough. But it remains to be seen whether you have the capability to back up your arrogance.”
As Wang De roared, his aura surged outward. The turbulent pressure bore down upon Ye Chu, vast as a mountain, carrying a terrifying intent. As it erupted, it caused the surroundings to change colour.
Wang Peng gave a wry smile. He thought that Ye Chu deserved this for not listening to his advice!
