Standing before Ye Chu were nearly thirty cultivators. At the forefront were Yu Jin, Gu Xing, Zhang Huo, and Ma Teng. Many other experts stood around them in all directions, each channelling their strongest power to suppress Ye Chu with overwhelming pressure.
Even a king would have no choice but to flee in the face of such a formation.
Yet Ye Chu laughed loudly, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and stared at the group. “You are not quite as useless as I imagined!”
“You are looking for death!” Yu Jin, the most arrogant of them all, spoke with a cold expression, his gaze fixed darkly on Ye Chu.
“Who ends up dead remains to be seen!” Ye Jingyun stepped into the arena with Yang Hui and Yang Ning, glancing at the group with a snort. “Do you really think sheer numbers matter? The four of us are more than enough to deal with you!”
Ye Jingyun’s clear, water-like eyes locked onto Yu Jin and the others. With Ye Chu’s combat prowess supporting them, the outcome of a four-on-thirty fight was far from certain.
“We are taking the Dao Comprehension Stone and the champion title!” Ye Jingyun stared directly at Yu Jin. “If you disagree, come and try to stop us!”
Gu Xing and Yu Jin fixed their gaze on Ye Jingyun. Their eyes involuntarily drifted down to her long, shapely legs, a flash of intense heat passing through their pupils.
Naturally, when their eyes swept over Yang Hui and Yang Ning, that heat only grew fiercer.
“That bastard really has luck. Once we kill him, we will have plenty of fun with his female companions.” Yu Jin’s gaze raked over the three women’s plump curves, his expression thoroughly lewd.
Ye Jingyun noticed and her face grew even darker. Her alluring legs tensed, ready to strike out, but Ye Chu stopped her. “For a bunch of trash like this to require your hands would only slap my own face.”
Ye Chu gestured for Ye Jingyun to step back. He wiped the blood from his mouth again, and seeing she was about to speak, quickly cut her off. “Your status is far too precious, like a celestial fairy descending to earth. How could I let them dirty your hands with such menial, exhausting work? Leave these useless fellows to your little brother here. I guarantee I will beat them into complete submission.”
Before Ye Jingyun could respond, Yu Jin and the others could no longer endure the insult. They struck simultaneously, unleashing a combined assault straight at Ye Chu.
Nearly thirty cultivators attacking together generated a vast power that made the space rumble violently. The void itself seemed to twist, a sight that made one’s scalp tingle.
The force was like an overwhelming tide, capable of annihilating everything in its path. Brilliant light obscured the sun and moon, and cracks spiderwebbed across the ground beneath them.
Ye Chu’s figure flashed, narrowly evading the initial strike.
Ye Jingyun, Yang Hui, and the others fell back. Seeing Ye Jingyun prepare to intervene, Yang Hui held her back and shook her head. “Since the young master wishes to face them alone, he must have his confidence. He acts this way for his own reasons.”
Ye Jingyun paused, recalling the scene where Ye Chu fought the king. A sudden understanding dawned on her, and she held back. Her body, however, remained tense, ready to step in the moment Ye Chu faltered.
Nuoran, seeing it truly was Ye Chu alone against Yu Jin and the others, could not help but frown. With Yu Jin and the rest attacking together, their combined strength had at least doubled. Ye Chu had already been beaten to the point of coughing blood earlier. How could he possibly withstand them now?
Yu Jin and his group were furious. Repeatedly insulted by Ye Chu, a heavy pressure built in their chests. The more they let it out, the more power surged through their veins. They merged their forces into a single devastating strike, accompanied by a wind that howled like it would shake the world.
“Do you really think fast movement and powerful intent patterns allow you to do as you please? Today we will show you that no matter how monstrous your talent, you must learn restraint on the Path of the Heavenly Prodigies.”
As Yu Jin and the others spoke, vast power descended upon Ye Chu from all directions. It was terrifying. Even though Ye Chu used Instant Wind to dodge several blows, he could not avoid them all. The impact sent his qi and blood churning violently.
“Surrender, kowtow, hand over the Dao Comprehension Stone, and we might just let you go!” Yu Jin stared at Ye Chu, his own power surging like a raging river, continuously erupting.
“You are not qualified!” Ye Chu laughed, his figure flashing again. He was forced back once more, his feet cracking the ground with every step.
“Then you have only yourself to blame!” Yu Jin and the others sneered. Their momentum grew even more terrifying, stirring up wind and clouds until the howling gales formed a massive tornado.
Ye Chu clashed with them, continuously forced backwards, his blood and qi in severe turmoil. Even when he channelled his full strength alongside his most explosive intent patterns, he struggled to hold his ground.
“Bang…”
Another strike sent Ye Chu flying backwards. His arms trembled violently, blood spilling from his mouth, his face growing pale.
“Just give up! You cannot possibly defeat us!” Zhang Huo sneered. “No one can challenge the cultivators of an entire city and expect to walk away victorious.”
“That is not necessarily true!” Ye Chu wiped the blood from his mouth again, looking at Zhang Huo and the others. “This world is full of people who create miracles. Who can guarantee I will not defeat you?”
“Stubborn fool!” Gu Xing’s expression darkened. “In that case, we will send you to your grave!”
As he spoke, the group’s power grew even more terrifying. Carrying a sharp, killing intent from all directions, it crashed straight toward Ye Chu’s vital points.
Even Ye Jingyun, standing to the side, tensed her entire body. The attack was too fierce, so overpowering it sent a chill through her heart. Seeing Ye Chu’s trembling arms, she was certain he could not block it.
The terrifying power arrived in an instant, aiming straight for Ye Chu’s chest. It moved like a beast ready to devour everything. No one believed Ye Chu could withstand it.
Yet Ye Chu’s figure flashed. He evaded several strikes and blocked a few more with his fists, desperately retreating. The impacts forced him to cough blood, his body trembling violently.
Nevertheless, Ye Chu’s laughter did not stop. Combined with the blood trickling from his mouth, it looked strangely eerie. It made Gu Xing and the others sneer. “A madman is a madman. Even on the verge of death, he still laughs so hideously!”
The group attacked again. Defeating Ye Chu seemed inevitable. The only question was how many moves it would take.
Ye Chu blocked another strike. More blood flowed from his mouth. Yet his laughter showed no sign of fading. Coupled with his dishevelled state, he truly looked like a lunatic.
“Do you really think this is enough to kill me? If this is all you have, I will still call you trash!” Ye Chu laughed loudly.
These words made the group’s faces turn icy. Gu Xing’s stellar physique activated, power continuously exploding outward.
“This amount of power is more than enough to kill you!”
Provoked by Ye Chu, the group intensified their attacks.
Seeing Ye Chu still taking the time to taunt them, Ye Jingyun suddenly felt a wave of relief. He might be a madman, but when his own life was on the line, he would hardly act recklessly.
Indeed, Ye Chu laughed out loud. “In that case, prepare to weep!”
As he spoke, the green lotus trembled. Ten thousand petals danced in the starry sky. This time, however, the dance was different from before. The petals were dazzling, flashing with an eerie, captivating brilliance.
“Emotion!” Ye Jingyun stared at the trembling petals, her heart skipping a beat.
Nuoran’s expression also changed, for she sensed a power that made her heart tremble.
“This is…”
While the crowd frowned in confusion, Ye Chu’s voice suddenly turned chillingly cold. “I told you. With only that much strength, you should prepare to die!”
As Ye Chu finished his sentence, a brilliant light erupted. The petals of emotion danced, generating a terrifying force.
“Profound Truth of Seizing!”
The heavens and earth instantly shifted. Gu Xing’s expression jumped in shock, and Yu Jin swiftly retreated.
