Bai Xuan felt she could not resist Ye Chu’s fiery passion. Yet thinking of Yaoyao and Huang Lin just outside, her face flushed crimson as she pressed down on Ye Chu’s hand. She felt as though his hands held some kind of magic, making her body respond involuntarily.
Bai Xuan could not help biting Ye Chu’s lip, causing him a slight sting. “I feel now that you truly are a seasoned romantic.”
Ye Chu put on an innocent expression and pressed his body closer to Bai Xuan. “Sister Bai Xuan would not abandon me, would she!”
“No way!” Bai Xuan had no idea how weak her refusal sounded.
Just as Ye Chu and Bai Xuan were both lost in desire, Huang Lin’s voice suddenly rang out. “Sister Bai Xuan, we are hungry. Have you finished preparing dinner?”
Bai Xuan startled like a frightened small animal. She jumped away from Ye Chu at once. Her peerlessly beautiful face was flushed scarlet, her ears burning red. Her gaze fell on the bulge in Ye Chu’s trousers. The sight made her expression even more charming and alluring, like a newlywed young wife, utterly captivating.
Huang Lin entered with Yaoyao. Though Bai Xuan and Ye Chu tried to appear calm, Huang Lin noticed Bai Xuan’s flustered movements. She could not help asking curiously, “Sister Bai Xuan, are you alright? Did you pick up the wrong bowl?”
Huang Lin saw Bai Xuan holding a tiny bowl to serve food and could not help reminding her. That bowl was usually Yaoyao’s. How much could such a small bowl hold?
“Ah…” Bai Xuan let out a soft cry. In her panic, she tried to switch bowls, but in her haste, the bowl slipped from her hand and shattered on the floor.
“…” Huang Lin had never seen Bai Xuan like this. She could not help glancing suspiciously at Ye Chu. Ye Chu’s skin was thick enough to ignore Huang Lin’s stare. He simply smiled naturally at her. Huang Lin could not detect anything unusual.
Of course, Huang Lin had no idea that Ye Chu was inwardly itching to strangle her at that moment.
Seeing Yaoyao heading towards the shards, Ye Chu feared she might cut herself. He quickly picked her up and said to Huang Lin, “Take Yaoyao outside. I will clean this up.”
Huang Lin was still a young girl and did not think much of it. After urging Bai Xuan a couple of times with “I am hungry,” she took Yaoyao and left.
“It is all your fault!” Once Huang Lin was gone, Bai Xuan glared at Ye Chu with puffed cheeks. Yet she had no idea how alluring she looked. Her pout carried no trace of real anger, only endless charm.
Ye Chu said with exaggerated pain, “Sister Bai Xuan, you have no idea what state you have left me in.”
Bai Xuan glanced at the bulge in Ye Chu’s trousers and could not help bursting into a soft laugh. “Serves you right for being so naughty. You brought this on yourself. I am not responsible for you.”
Bai Xuan scolded Ye Chu shyly, but when she saw him about to pounce again, she jumped in fright. “Not now. Tonight, alright!”
“Really!” Ye Chu felt his blood surge wildly. He stared at Bai Xuan with burning eyes.
Bai Xuan felt flustered under Ye Chu’s intense gaze. She no longer had the courage to repeat herself. She pushed away Ye Chu, who was clumsily trying to help pick up the shards. “If you keep disturbing me, tonight I will sleep with Huang Lin instead.”
“…”
In an instant, Ye Chu vanished without a trace.
Watching Ye Chu leave, Bai Xuan took a deep breath. Her hand pressed against her chest, feeling her heart pounding as though it would burst out. She tugged at her skirt hem, feeling the damp heat between her legs, and blushed with sudden shyness.
“Scoundrel!” Bai Xuan bit her lip and muttered, unsure what he was even thinking.
…
After having dinner with Huang Lin, Bai Xuan, and the others, Bai Xuan felt somewhat guilty. All day she deliberately avoided being alone with Ye Chu. Ye Chu felt for the first time that the daytime was unbearably long. After playing with Yaoyao for a while, he returned to his room.
Since time passed so slowly, he could only cultivate to pass it.
Ye Chu’s mind was entirely on the black iron in his qi sea. The dead fat man had described it in such divine terms. Ye Chu wanted to see if it truly was that miraculous.
Ye Chu sank his mind into his qi sea. The black iron shimmered with cyan ghostly light. As the light flickered, the spiritual energy in Ye Chu’s qi sea began circulating faster.
Of course, Ye Chu could feel that the cyan ghostly light shone on his primordial spirit, making it unusually active.
As he drew his mind closer to the black iron, Ye Chu noticed intricate patterns on it. These patterns were very fine, and Ye Chu could not fully comprehend them.
Ye Chu marvelled at these patterns. His mind drew even nearer to the black iron. When his mind came into contact with it, Ye Chu felt his primordial spirit and entire consciousness pulled into the black iron. He could no longer sense anything of the outside world.
The black iron’s light suddenly intensified. Cyan ghostly radiance illuminated every corner of Ye Chu’s qi sea. This light carried strange patterns. As it fell across the qi sea, the qi sea actually began to expand.
This left Ye Chu utterly astonished. Expanding the qi sea was extremely difficult. Only upon reaching the Innate Realm could one locate their qi sea and allow the mind to enter it. Further expansion required breakthroughs. Each breakthrough increased the qi sea’s size slightly. The first level of the Innate Realm had the size of the first level. The fifth level had the size of the fifth level. Though it varied from person to person, for any single individual, the qi sea size at each level was nearly fixed.
Ye Chu’s qi sea was already larger than most of his peers due to the deep foundation he had built earlier. Expanding it even a little more was extraordinarily difficult.
Yet now, the cyan ghostly light erupting from the black iron was expanding his qi sea further. In other words, Ye Chu could now contain far more power than before.
This was a maddening opportunity. Every prodigy dreamed of a larger qi sea, because the implications were far too precious. The higher the realm, the more obvious this advantage became!
Just imagine if your qi sea could hold twice as much power as others of the same level, or even more. What would that mean? It was self-evident!
It meant that even if you were several levels below someone, you might still possess strength surpassing theirs. And this was only one of the benefits!
The rest would become clearer the further one cultivated.
