This was a quiet, extremely large room. Luo Feng, dressed in a simple white robe, suddenly appeared inside it.
“So big,” Luo Feng could not help but exclaim.
Visually, the room was over 50 metres long, about 20 metres wide, and 5 metres high. In other words, the total area exceeded 1000 square metres. At the centre of the room was a large round bed with a diameter of 3 metres. In front of the bed was an indoor swimming pool, 10 metres wide and 20 metres long.
Bed, swimming pool, desk and chairs, a luxurious dining table, lounge chairs, a training area with a yoga mat, the vast over 1000 square metre room was neatly divided into multiple functional zones.
“Tsk tsk.”
Luo Feng could not help smiling.
“Welcome, Battle God Luo Feng,” an electronic voice suddenly sounded, startling him.
“This is your private room within the Battle God Palace. No one other than yourself can enter your room. In the Battle God Palace, you may order any food or drink you wish. There are many delicacies here that do not exist in reality.”
Luo Feng was stunned. Advertising food and drink?
“On your desk, there are two books. One is the Battle God Palace Regulations, the other is Fundamentals of Spirit Reader. We wish you an enjoyable time in the Battle God Palace,” the electronic voice said before disappearing.
“Enjoyable time?” Luo Feng smiled.
Was this Battle God Palace a place for battle gods to enjoy themselves?
The desk was near the window. The entire southern side of the room was made of large floor to ceiling glass. Luo Feng stood by the window and looked outside at the breathtaking scenery.
“An immortal realm?”
Outside the window was a vast endless expanse, filled with drifting clouds. Brilliant sunlight shone through the clouds, refracting into rainbow colours. It was dreamlike and beautiful. Although he knew it was a virtual space, a 100 percent realistic simulation, it still felt exactly like reality.
It was impossible not to be amazed.
“Let’s first take a look at Fundamentals of Spirit Reader,” Luo Feng said as he returned to the desk. On it were two books. One, with a black cover, read Battle God Palace Regulations. The other had a cover like a night sky, black with faint starlight, mysterious and deep.
On it were six characters, Fundamentals of Spirit Reader.
“This book alone is worth 3 Stellar Points. Even more expensive than a king class intelligent combat aircraft,” Luo Feng said as he picked it up and began reading.
……
“Spirit force originates from human spirit and soul. The body is the foundation of the spirit.”
“Spirit force can only be nurtured and strengthened within the human body. Because of the special relationship between body and spirit force, when spirit force touches a human or animal body, it directly passes through. Therefore, spirit force cannot directly attack the enemy’s body. It must rely on a medium, such as blades or hidden weapons.”
Seeing this, Luo Feng nodded.
Indeed.
For example, when he ran, he used spirit force to amplify his movement, usually applied to shields, the soles of battle boots, or arm guards, rather than clothing. Why? Because clothing is still porous at a molecular level. Spirit force particles applied to clothing would mostly pass through those gaps and through the body.
It can still exert some force, but perhaps only about one tenth of its full effect. Whereas applied to a shield or boot sole, it reaches 100 percent effectiveness.
“Spirit force can be both solid and intangible.”
“Solid, it can contain immense power, controlling objects at a distance, killing enemies from hundreds of metres away.”
“Intangible, it can silently infiltrate the mind and kill without sound.”
“Converging silently, changing without form.”
“All spirit readers mainly fall into three categories. First, controlling objects to attack from a distance. Second, penetrating the opponent’s consciousness sea to attack directly. Third, beast taming.”
……
Luo Feng continued reading. About half the book focused on the first method, remote object control. The remaining half mainly described consciousness sea attacks. Beast taming was only briefly mentioned.
“Hmm?”
While reading about remote object control, a passage caught his attention and made his eyes light up.
“For spirit readers focused on object control, strength improvement can be divided into three aspects: spirit force strength, weapons, and technique. This book focuses mainly on technique. The combat strength of a spirit reader in terms of technique depends on how many weapons can be controlled simultaneously while maintaining maximum attack power.”
“For example, a mid level battle god spirit reader controlling one flying knife can reach a maximum impact force of 160,000 kilograms.”
“Controlling five flying knives, each at 160,000 kilograms, gives a total of 800,000 kilograms of impact force.”
“If controlling ten flying knives, each at maximum, that is 1.6 million kilograms.”
“If controlling twenty flying knives at maximum, that is 3.2 million kilograms.”
“The more weapons controlled while maintaining maximum power, the stronger the spirit reader becomes. The following section explains how to increase the number of controlled weapons while maintaining peak power.”
Luo Feng was completely stunned.
Controlling flying knives!
That Phantom Demon Kartelan was only a mid level battle god spirit reader, yet he could control nine daggers simultaneously, each at maximum power. But Luo Feng, already at the peak of high level battle god, could only control six flying knives. Far too few.
“My flying knives already exceed 500,000 kilograms each. Six knives means over 3 million kilograms. If I control ten knives, that is over 5 million kilograms. If I control twenty knives, over 10 million kilograms. My god, even beings beyond battle gods would not be able to withstand that,” Luo Feng felt his blood surge.
As he continued reading, he realised how difficult it was to maintain maximum power while increasing the number of weapons.
Being able to control six without special training already meant he had strong talent.
Phantom Demon Kartelan had trained for decades to reach nine daggers. And without this Fundamentals of Spirit Reader manual, he had taken many detours. On Earth, spirit readers who could exceed ten flying knives were fewer than five in total.
Twenty flying knives?
That was a level all spirit readers on Earth had to look up to.
“No wonder this book costs 3 Stellar Points, and can only be viewed in the virtual space,” Luo Feng became more and more excited. “So increasing each flying knife is extremely difficult. But with this method, as long as I train step by step, I will continue improving.”
After finishing the object control section, Luo Feng moved on to the spirit attack section.
“Oh?”
“When spirit force is within one’s own consciousness sea, its power increases. But when it enters someone else’s consciousness sea, instead of being amplified, it is suppressed and weakened?”
“In other words, to directly kill an opponent head on, my spirit force must be at least three levels stronger than theirs.”
When a high level battle god spirit reader’s consciousness force enters a low level battle god spirit reader’s consciousness sea, it is suppressed, while the opponent gains a boost. The gap becomes smaller.
Only if there is a three level difference can one kill outright.
“What? Even ordinary martial artists have strong spirit force?”
Luo Feng was shocked.
Ordinary martial artists could not control objects remotely, but that did not mean their spirit was weak. In fact, strong martial artists often had very strong will and spirit. A high level battle god martial artist’s consciousness sea also contained a small amount of spirit force. In pure quality, it might not be much weaker than a high level spirit reader. Only the quantity differed greatly.
……
Spirit attack methods were complex. Earth’s development in this area was clearly still limited.
The manual recorded 18 techniques.
Such as Dream, Phantom Eye, Spirit Piercing, Soul Shock, and many others.
The method of killing was:
Use a technique to disrupt the enemy, then kill them with remote object control.
“First use a technique, then control objects remotely,” Luo Feng sighed slightly, somewhat disappointed with so called spirit attacks. However, he still intended to learn the 18 techniques.
……
Next was the beast taming section.
It stated that spirit force could be used to tame beasts. On Earth, only nine spirit readers had successfully tamed beasts. The method recorded was only one, mental communication, a gentle way of forming a bond with beasts.
He closed the book.
Luo Feng let out a long breath and walked to the window, looking out at the endless sea of clouds.
“Worth 3 Stellar Points. Expensive,” he smiled. “But worth it.”
Now he understood why Hong valued this manual so highly. After reading Fundamentals of Spirit Reader, one could fully understand spirit reader cultivation. It contained methods to increase flying knife control and 18 spirit attack techniques.
Just these techniques alone were priceless. No one knew how Hong had collected them.
“If I had obtained this book a year earlier, my strength today would probably be twice what it is now,” Luo Feng thought happily.
Work hard.
According to the book, a high level battle god spirit reader who increases flying knife control to a certain level could even break through and become a being beyond battle gods.
“Focus on object control, with a few spirit techniques as support,” Luo Feng decided.
Keep going.
Now that he was an inspector, he could relax a little and focus on cultivation. Perhaps one day, he would break through battle god level.
“It is time to take a look at other battle gods.”
“All battle gods in the world are here in the Battle God Palace. I wonder how many there really are,” Luo Feng thought with curiosity.
