“How could that be possible?”
The other three supervisors also could not believe it.
“Look at his information,” the thin man shouted immediately. The four top figures of the Extreme Limit Headquarters all stared at the screen.
“ID number is 426123203806083211,” the tall and burly supervisor said quickly. “His date of birth is 8 June 2038, which means he is only 19 years old this year. A 19 year old inspector?”
“Nineteen years old?”
Hall Master Zhou Zhengyong and the three supervisors, including Zhuge Tao, looked at each other and fell silent.
If they had only seen the name “Luo Feng” and “Yangzhou City, Jiangnan Base City”, they might still have suspected it was someone with the same name. But once they saw the ID number, there was no doubt. Every person has a unique ID number, and the Extreme Limit Martial Hall headquarters would never make a mistake in an official appointment like this.
“It really is Luo Feng.”
“It really is him.”
The Hall Master and the three supervisors all had different reactions. Zhuge Tao, however, felt a hint of quiet joy. When he first discovered Luo Feng’s talent, he had helped him a little. It had only been a casual attempt to cast a wide net, but in just one year, Luo Feng had become his superior.
“He is only 19, yet already a battle god, and an ‘invincible battle god’?” the thin man asked in confusion.
“Yu Sen,” Zhuge Tao smiled. “Stop thinking about it. This official notice is definitely correct.”
“This is troublesome,” the burly man frowned. “The new inspector is only 19. At that age, he is unlikely to be steady and experienced. Young people have quick tempers. If we accidentally offend him, he might remove any one of us in anger.”
Young people really did tend to have worse tempers than older ones.
“Mm,” the others, including Zhuge Tao, nodded.
“But don’t worry too much,” Zhou Zhengyong said with a smile. “A young person with a hot temper is bad for us, but on the other hand, young people are easier to handle. If we treat him well and make him happy, he will be pleased. Those old foxes are far more cunning and much harder to deal with.”
The other three nodded.
“So everyone pay attention. Luo Feng is from our Jiangnan region,” Zhou Zhengyong said seriously. “According to the rules, appointments like this prioritise local candidates. And he is already an invincible battle god, and a local. Once he becomes inspector, this position will remain his for a long time.”
The others understood as well. Even if headquarters sent another inspector, he would not be assigned to Jiangnan Base City. Because Luo Feng, a local invincible battle god, already held the position. Who could compete with him?
“If he does not break through, he may hold this position for decades,” someone said.
“And if he does break through and become a higher existence beyond battle gods, a patrol inspector, his status will be even higher. He could dismiss even a hall master with a single word. We must be even more careful with him,” Zhou Zhengyong said solemnly.
No matter whether Luo Feng broke through or not, he would always be above them. And as a local, he would likely stay in Jiangnan Base City. Working under him, they had to handle things carefully.
“Don’t worry, Hall Master.”
“We understand.”
“No one is stupid,” the three supervisors quickly replied.
“Good,” Zhou Zhengyong nodded. “I will call Mingyue Community in Yangzhou to ask.”
“Hello.”
Zhou Zhengyong dialled the number. “Wu Tong, about Luo Feng in your community…”
“What?” Zhou Zhengyong’s expression changed as he listened. Zhuge Tao and the others also listened carefully, catching words like “flying combat aircraft” and “Luo Feng”.
After a moment, he hung up.
“What is it, Hall Master?” the three asked.
Zhou Zhengyong smiled faintly. “Luo Feng just arrived at Mingyue Community in a triangular flying combat aircraft. And he said that aircraft was something he bought.”
“He bought it? How could he afford that right after being appointed?” the burly man could not help asking.
“Don’t worry about how he got it,” Zhou Zhengyong said sharply. “Old Wang, remember this. From now on, Luo Feng is the inspector, the highest authority in our Jiangnan Extreme Limit Martial Hall. Watch your words. If you offend him, you could lose your position with a single sentence.”
The burly man quickly forced a smile. “Hall Master, I just have not adjusted yet.”
“We still do not know his temperament. Everyone be careful,” Zhou Zhengyong said. “Prepare to leave in 20 minutes. We will take a combat aircraft to Yangzhou City to meet the inspector.”
“Yes,” the three replied.
At Luo Feng’s home in Mingyue Community, Yangzhou City.
The family was happily having breakfast together, but the atmosphere changed after Luo Hua spoke.
“Brother, you said you will not leave this time? Why?” Luo Hua asked.
“I have been appointed by the global headquarters as the inspector of the Jiangnan Base City Extreme Limit Martial Hall,” Luo Feng said.
The room immediately fell silent. His father Luo Hongguo asked, “Xiao Feng, this inspector sounds like a big official. How big is it?” His mother Gong Xinlan was also curious.
In the community, people usually talked about the hall master and the three supervisors. The inspector, however, was rarely mentioned.
“Dad, Mum,” Luo Hua, sitting in a wheelchair, finally recovered from his shock and said excitedly, “That is a very big position. Bigger than the hall master. He is number one in the entire Jiangnan Extreme Limit Martial Hall.”
“Bigger than the hall master?” Luo Hongguo and Gong Xinlan were stunned.
To them, the hall master was already an extremely high figure. To become hall master, one had to be a battle god and have strong connections.
And now their son was even above that?
“Xiao Feng?” they both looked at him.
“Yes,” Luo Feng nodded.
“This aircraft I brought back,” he continued, “cost over 100 billion, and it cannot be bought even with money.”
To help them understand his current status, he directly revealed the price. This king class intelligent combat aircraft was indeed not something money could easily buy. Even Extreme Limit Martial Hall and the HR Alliance did not sell it publicly. For outsiders, even 200 billion would not be enough.
“Over 100 billion?” his parents were stunned again.
To them, it was an unimaginable figure. Even the richest man in China could not compare.
In fact, even most invincible battle gods could not afford such an aircraft. Luo Feng was only able to buy it because of the wealth he obtained from the Mu Island plant spirit.
After a long while, his parents finally came back to their senses.
“Xiao Feng, how much power and money do you actually have?” Luo Hongguo asked.
Power and money.
Luo Feng did not know how to answer. Invincible battle gods were already among the strongest beings below those beyond battle gods, with terrifying authority. As for money, with the Dun Tian Shuttle, hunting lord level monsters was like withdrawing cash from a bank.
The only limitation was that he could not hunt too many in the same area, or he would attract king level monsters.
“Forget it,” Gong Xinlan laughed. “Old man, could you even spend 100 billion in your lifetime?”
“Xiao Feng,” she then said, “I have something I want your help with…”
“Mom, just say it,” Luo Feng replied.
Gong Xinlan sighed. “Back during the Great Nirvana period…”
She began talking about how she and Luo Hongguo had become orphans, and how many relatives they had lost contact with during that chaotic era. Records were lost, identities unclear, and survival itself had been difficult.
“I have many cousins, uncles, aunts…” she said softly.
“I want to find them again,” she continued. “But I never had the ability to do so.”
Luo Feng listened quietly, then nodded seriously.
“Dad, Mom, don’t worry,” he said. “I will investigate all our family relatives from back then.”
This would be the first thing he did after becoming inspector, and the first thing he would do for his parents.
