TWSBHSW Chapter 139

Vulture Li Yao, fully armed with only his eyes, nose, and mouth exposed, stood in the wasteland like a demonic god. The others were completely intimidated by his overwhelming presence.

A thick smell of blood filled the air.

“I did not expect Luo Feng to have already grown this strong. If not for the Black God Suit, I might not even be confident I could defeat him.” Li Yao narrowed his eyes, cold light flickering. “He survived two direct attacks from me. And he already knows how powerful my Black God Suit is. Next time, he will not let me get close so easily.”

Li Yao was also anxious.

“There is only one way.”

“Chase him down and force him to fly into the air. Once he is airborne… he becomes a target for the laser cannon!” A cold smile appeared on Li Yao’s face.

“Yes, the laser cannon.”

Then his expression changed slightly. He had just seen Luo Feng’s throwing knives slaughtering people in the crowd. The laser cannon was one of humanity’s most advanced weapons. Without trained personnel, even if all the parts were here, he could not assemble or operate it.

“Klein!” Li Yao turned sharply.

A bearded white man ran over respectfully. “Mr. Li.”

“How are your specialist team’s casualties?” Li Yao asked immediately.

Klein’s face was pale. “Our team had nine people including me. Two are dead, two injured.”

“Can you assemble and operate the laser cannon?” Li Yao pressed.

“Hmm…”

Klein frowned slightly.

Li Yao’s heart tightened. The large laser cannon could easily kill lord level monsters and heavily injure king level monsters. It was one of humanity’s strongest weapons. It was extremely complex, and each specialist handled only a specific part. If even one key person was missing, it might not be possible to assemble it.

“It is just the T11 P circuit assembly…” Klein hesitated.

“I am asking you, can you assemble it or not?” Li Yao said coldly.

Seeing Li Yao’s icy expression, Klein shivered and gritted his teeth. “Seven of us can manage it together.”

“Good.” Li Yao nodded. “Start assembling immediately.”

“Here?” Klein was shocked.

“Yes, here.” Li Yao sneered. “I do not have time to move everything to the mountain. I believe Luo Feng will not be able to resist and will try to secretly observe us. Once he shows himself, the assembled laser cannon will lock onto him and kill him.”

Li Yao understood clearly.

Since Luo Feng had already discovered their position, moving everything to the mountaintop to assemble it might be noticed. Then, with Luo Feng’s spiritual念 master abilities, he might not be able to defeat Li Yao, but destroying the laser cannon would not be difficult.

Klein immediately nodded. “Yes!”

He ran back to his team. Li Yao also went over to supervise as the boxes were opened, and ordered, “The rest of you watch the surroundings carefully. Do not allow any monsters to disturb us.”

“Yes!” dozens of people responded.

Suddenly there was commotion from the specialist team. Li Yao frowned and looked over.

“Mr. Li, Mr. Li!” Klein ran over in panic.

“What is it?” Li Yao asked.

“Just now… just now…” Klein stammered, his face pale.

“Speak!” Li Yao barked.

“During the spiritual念 master attack earlier, people were panicking and running. In the chaos, someone knocked over a crate. And one of the crates… was pierced by a flying knife.”

“What?” Li Yao’s expression changed.

Knocking over crates might not be serious due to internal cushioning protection.

But if a flying knife pierced a crate, the components inside were likely destroyed.

“Quick, open it,” Li Yao ordered as he walked over.

Klein hurried after him. The other specialists were already gathered around a damaged crate. Li Yao saw it clearly, a hole had pierced straight through the box. Broken glass fragments were visible inside.

The components were clearly damaged.

“Damn it! Damn it!!” Li Yao’s eyes turned red.

Things had already gone wrong from the start.

However, he did not know that Luo Feng had not targeted the crates at all. It was simply that three throwing knives had been deflected by the mid level war god Northern Yuan Gang. With their extreme speed, one of them accidentally pierced this crate.

“Mr. Li, if this contains radar guidance components, it might still be usable,” Klein said quickly.

“Open it,” Li Yao roared.

The specialists quickly disassembled it.

The box opened.

Klein’s eyes widened. “Energy?”

“What?” everyone else was stunned.

“What is it?” Li Yao asked sharply.

Klein examined it carefully, then suddenly became excited. “Mr. Li, we are extremely lucky. This damaged crate contains laser cannon energy units. Two units are destroyed, but one is intact. That means the cannon can still fire one maximum power shot, or three reduced power shots.”

Li Yao finally relaxed slightly.

One full power shot or three reduced shots was still acceptable. Each shot could kill the strongest war god or lord level monster.

“Continue assembly,” Li Yao ordered.

“Yes!” Everyone felt like they had survived disaster and quickly resumed work.

In the King Kong Ape Mountain Range, inside Luo Feng’s base.

Inside the dim cave, Luo Feng sat leaning against the wall, his face slightly pale.

“Good thing the bone is not broken,” he muttered, rubbing his left elbow.

He recalled the previous battle with lingering fear.

Li Yao’s strength was that of an experienced high level war god. His raw strength alone reached 400,000 to 500,000 kilograms. With amplification, one strike could exceed one million kilograms, over 1,000 tons.

Even with spiritual interference and shield defence, that blow still broke his bone.

“His speed is faster than mine. His attack is stronger than mine. His defence is also much stronger.”

“My advantage is only in unpredictable attacks and better escape ability.”

“That Black God Suit is too special. It can extend and cover the entire body, even stretch over ten metres. It makes close combat very dangerous.”

He remembered clearly how Li Yao tried to extend his arm and bind him mid air.

If he had been caught, it would have been over.

“Next time, I must keep more than twenty metres distance from him,” Luo Feng decided.

Meanwhile, in the wasteland, Li Yao showed overwhelming power and drove away a lord level beast that had tried to attack. No monster dared approach again.

“Mr. Li, everything is assembled!” Klein reported excitedly.

“Oh?” Li Yao walked over.

Before him stood a massive satellite like machine. Its wings stretched nearly ten metres. In the centre was a cylindrical core like a turbine, with two smaller cylinders on the sides.

“Has Luo Feng been located?” Li Yao asked.

“Yes,” Klein pointed at the radar display. “He is within five kilometres. The radar can barely detect him. But it is designed for large objects. A human is too small for long range lock. At longer distances, we must use laser targeting.”

“Laser targeting?” Li Yao frowned.

“Yes,” Klein nodded. “Laser guidance is extremely precise and can lock onto distant targets, but it requires a completely unobstructed path. If there is a mountain in the way, it cannot be used.”

“At close range, radar is enough,” he added confidently.

“Can we kill him now?” Li Yao asked.

“No,” Klein shook his head. “He is inside a mountain. Between us and him is over 300 metres of solid rock. The laser would lose all power before reaching him.”

“However, if he exposes himself,” Klein continued, “or if the rock barrier is less than ten metres, we can penetrate and kill him.”

“Good.” Li Yao’s eyes lit up. “Lock onto him. I refuse to believe this brat will not peek out with a telescope. The moment he becomes targetable, kill him immediately.”

“Yes!” Klein replied loudly.

Li Yao looked toward the distant King Kong Ape Mountain Range, a cruel smile forming.

“Being killed by a laser cannon… you should feel honoured.”
