“Can you assemble and operate the laser cannon?” Li Yao pressed.

Klein frowned slightly.
Li Yao’s heart tightened. The large laser cannon could easily kill lord level monsters and heavily injure king level monsters. It was one of humanity’s strongest weapons. It was extremely complex, and each specialist handled only a specific part. If even one key person was missing, it might not be possible to assemble it.
“It is just the T11 P circuit assembly…” Klein hesitated.
“I am asking you, can you assemble it or not?” Li Yao said coldly.

“Good.” Li Yao nodded. “Start assembling immediately.”

“Quick, open it,” Li Yao ordered as he walked over.
Klein hurried after him. The other specialists were already gathered around a damaged crate. Li Yao saw it clearly, a hole had pierced straight through the box. Broken glass fragments were visible inside.

“Yes,” Klein pointed at the radar display. “He is within five kilometres. The radar can barely detect him. But it is designed for large objects. A human is too small for long range lock. At longer distances, we must use laser targeting.”
“Laser targeting?” Li Yao frowned.
“Yes,” Klein nodded. “Laser guidance is extremely precise and can lock onto distant targets, but it requires a completely unobstructed path. If there is a mountain in the way, it cannot be used.”
“At close range, radar is enough,” he added confidently.
“Can we kill him now?” Li Yao asked.
“No,” Klein shook his head. “He is inside a mountain. Between us and him is over 300 metres of solid rock. The laser would lose all power before reaching him.”
“However, if he exposes himself,” Klein continued, “or if the rock barrier is less than ten metres, we can penetrate and kill him.”
“Good.” Li Yao’s eyes lit up. “Lock onto him. I refuse to believe this brat will not peek out with a telescope. The moment he becomes targetable, kill him immediately.”
“Yes!” Klein replied loudly.
Li Yao looked toward the distant King Kong Ape Mountain Range, a cruel smile forming.
“Being killed by a laser cannon… you should feel honoured.”
