TWSBHSW Chapter 134

“Chairman’s call?” Li Yao’s expression also changed.

Although he was a top figure in the God of War circle, compared to the supreme leader of the HR Alliance, he was not on the same level at all.

The Chairman was the emperor of the underground world.

“Come here.” Venina pulled Li Yao aside and lowered her voice solemnly. “The Chairman just called to warn us that we are absolutely forbidden from touching Luo Feng’s family. If anything happens, my Polinas family will face sanctions from the entire Alliance.”

“What?” Li Yao frowned. “Impossible. Your Polinas family is also one of the core families. Even if he is the Chairman, to sanction a core family like this would require a collective vote of the Underground Parliament. It cannot be decided by a single sentence.”

Venina said quietly, “That means the Chairman believes that if a vote is held, it would definitely pass.”

Li Yao was shocked.

He understood.

In this world, only those two supreme existences, Hong and Thunder God, could shake the entire HR Alliance with a single sentence. And for Luo Feng, it was likely Hong backing him.

“Damn it!”

“Lucky bastard.” Li Yao cursed. He wanted nothing more than to tear Luo Feng to pieces. Originally he intended to wipe out Luo Feng’s entire family to vent his hatred, but now it was obvious that after Hong had spoken, not only would the HR Alliance not allow it, they might even actively deploy personnel to protect Luo Feng’s family.

He had no way to act now.

“Hmph, since Chief Hong has intervened, I’ll let his family go,” Li Yao snorted coldly. “Hong knows about this but did not stop me from dealing with Luo Feng. It seems he wants to use me to temper him.”

With his status, Li Yao could easily guess Hong’s intention.

“Tempering? Hmph. Failure in tempering means death for Luo Feng.”

Li Yao’s eyes turned cold. “Venina, stay in Paris Base City. We will communicate by phone.”

“Alright.” Venina nodded.

On the aircraft.

The passenger plane took off at 11:45 a.m., leaving Paris Base City and heading toward the Australian continent. There were only about sixty passengers on board, all members of Li Yao’s operation team, including personnel responsible for assembling and operating laser cannons.

“What? Mr Li, you have laser cannons here?” the yellow skinned man beside him exclaimed in shock.

“Oh my God.”

The two white men were also stunned.

“Laser cannons are prohibited weapons,” one bearded white man said quickly. “The Earth Federation strictly forbids smuggling laser cannons and nuclear bombs.”

“Even with bans, aren’t they still being transported?” Li Yao said casually. “Every year, laser cannons and nuclear weapons are still moved from the United States and Europe to weaker base cities. The Federation just turns a blind eye. Besides, the Federation itself is only a union of five major powers. Real power lies with them. It’s just a puppet organisation.”

The three God of War fighters nearby could not help but smile.

Laser cannons and nuclear bombs were humanity’s two ultimate weapons.

Nuclear bombs had large blast ranges and destructive power, but caused radiation that could trigger monster mutations.

Laser cannons, with their single point strike “death light” capability, were currently the most favoured weapons.

“Mr Li, impressive methods,” the yellow skinned man laughed. “If I wanted to buy one of these laser cannons, do you have a way to get one?”

“That won’t do,” Li Yao shook his head. “I still need this laser cannon returned after use. If it goes missing for too long, it will be traced, and that would be serious trouble. By the way, Kitahara, don’t your island nation people have channels to obtain laser cannons?”

Japan, once a major economic power before the Great Nirvana Period.

Unfortunately, being an island nation, and after excessive hunting of sharks and large sea creatures, the mutated ocean beasts became extremely powerful during the Great Nirvana. King level sea monsters even developed intelligence comparable to humans.

So they took revenge.

Massive monster tides attacked the islands.

With limited land defences, Japan could not withstand the endless waves of sea and air monsters, and was eventually overwhelmed. Survivors fled, leaving only a small population that rebuilt over decades.

Now they were a small ethnic group in the world.

“Too expensive,” Kitahara said seriously. “If Mr Li can get a laser cannon, I would pay twenty times the cost.”

“Twenty times?” Li Yao raised an eyebrow.

Laser cannons were already extremely expensive and hard to buy even with money.

“I wish I could, but I can’t,” he said.

The aircraft entered Australian airspace.

Li Yao left the cabin alone and went into the restroom.

“Venina,” he contacted her. “Where is Luo Feng now?”

The HR Alliance could track martial artists through communication watches.

“No confirmation,” came the anxious voice. “I am trying other methods.”

“What do you mean no confirmation?” Li Yao’s expression changed.

They had previously tracked the location of Li Wei’s corpse using martial artist data.

“His watch shows he is still in the Elite Training Camp,” Venina said urgently.

“Training camp? That’s impossible. He is in Australia,” Li Yao frowned.

“Which means one thing. He changed his communication watch,” Venina said. “The previous watch was left at the training camp. The current one is a new model not registered in HR Alliance records.”

Indeed.

Before August 1st, Luo Feng had upgraded his equipment after reaching a combat strength multiplier of 12, receiving a full set of rewards, including weapons, gear, and communication devices.

His new watch was specially issued by the Extreme Dojo and not traceable by the HR Alliance.

“So we cannot track it,” Venina said.

“Then what do we do?” Li Yao panicked.

Without knowing Luo Feng’s location, finding him in the vast Australian continent would be like searching for a needle in the ocean.

“There is only one way,” Venina said. “Call his communication watch. Once the call connects, we can trace his location.”

“Then call him,” Li Yao said immediately.

“But I don’t have his number,” Venina replied helplessly.

Without the number, there was no way to call.

Luo Feng had only just received the new watch. Only a few people in the training camp, mainly his close acquaintances in the Chinese faction, knew his number.

“Find it. You must find it,” Li Yao said urgently.

“I will get Candace to try again,” Venina said.

After ending the call, Li Yao returned to the cabin. The others were relaxed.

“Mr Kleins,” Li Yao asked a white middle aged man. “If we transport these boxes hundreds of miles and then assemble them, will there be any problem?”

“Mr Li,” Kleins replied respectfully, “the components are well protected, so normal shocks should not damage them. However, this is a precision optical weapon. If even one component is damaged, the entire system may fail.”

Li Yao clenched his teeth.

He was anxious.

“What is the range of the laser cannon?” he asked again.

“That is not a scientifically accurate question,” Kleins said seriously. “A laser cannon is a ultimate weapon, but it has weaknesses. First, it travels in a straight line. The Earth is a sphere, so the surface is curved.”

“If the target is too far away, we cannot even see it from the ground, and the laser cannot hit it.”

“So it must be deployed at high altitude or elevated positions to increase effective range.”

“Of course, against Spirit Readers, if they are flying at high altitude and within line of sight, it can kill instantly.”

“The issue now is getting the target into the right position.”

“If it is on the ground and too far away, it cannot be hit.”

“Also weather matters. Heavy fog or rain will greatly reduce effectiveness.”

“Laser is light based. Particles in rain or fog cause scattering and refraction, weakening its power.”

“So the cannon must be deployed on a high position close to the target,” Kleins concluded.

Li Yao nodded.

He understood.

But now the problem remained.

They did not even know where Luo Feng was.

How could they ever position the aircraft correctly to strike?
