Chapter Five Hundred and Thirty-Eight
No one could believe the scene before them, including Ji Die. Around Ye Chu, lotus leaves were similarly blooming, surrounding him completely. The green lotus enveloped his entire body, glowing with azure light, making Ye Chu appear exceptionally otherworldly.
When that force, sufficient to pierce through a mountain range, landed upon the green lotus enveloping Ye Chu, it was forcibly blocked. Only two lotus leaves were pierced through. Yet on the third lotus leaf, no matter how much force was applied, it could not advance an inch.
Time seemed to freeze at this moment. Ji Die naturally knew that Ye Chu possessed another path. She also knew his other path was one of defence, but she had not expected his defensive capability to be so astonishing.
She knew clearly how terrifying Tan Chen’s move was. Even though Ye Chu had diminished some of its power with his Sword Slaughter. It remained shockingly terrifying, more than enough to pierce through a King.
Yet such a terrifying technique was blocked by a single green lotus? Was this not laughable?
But no one could laugh. They stared blankly at Tan Chen in the arena, unable to advance even slightly.
“I forgot to tell you. My true mind pattern at this moment is the green lotus, the path of defence, also my other path!” Ye Chu’s words emerged, causing every person’s expression to become peculiar.
Only Ye Chu knew how terrifying the green lotus was. Its defence was forged through the combined tempering of various heaven-defying opportunities, including the Red Dust Female Saint’s state of mind, Chaos Green Essence, Black Iron, and so forth. It was even stronger than Sword Slaughter by several degrees, because it was truly fused with his state of mind.
Blocking Tan Chen’s strike seemed inconceivable to others, but to Ye Chu it was entirely natural.
Tan Chen gritted his teeth, wanting to pierce through Ye Chu’s final lotus leaf. But no matter how he drove his power, he could not advance.
“Then, it’s my turn!” Ye Chu suddenly smiled. Sword light shot out from his body, and as the sword light emerged, it flew directly toward Tan Chen.
Tan Chen’s expression changed dramatically, retreating frantically. But despite his swift speed, he could not dodge in time. One strike sliced across his arm, and a bead of blood flew toward the void. Ye Chu swept his arm, collecting the blood into a jade bottle. Capping the bottle, Ye Chu held it up toward Tan Chen standing opposite him and smiled, “Many thanks!”
Tan Chen’s face darkened. He glanced at his arm, then at the jade bottle in Ye Chu’s hand. Taking a deep breath, he snorted coldly and departed gracefully.
Tan Chen felt it was humiliating. He had actually lost to someone whose strength was a full realm lower than his. If word of this spread, his reputation would be utterly ruined. For someone considered an outstanding talent, this was a tremendous insult. Having lost, Tan Chen naturally had no face to continue seizing Ye Chu’s sacred liquid.
Everyone watched Tan Chen leave in anger, their expressions becoming exceptionally peculiar. No one had anticipated this result. They looked at Ye Chu with added caution. This person was too terrifying. Even an outstanding talent a realm stronger had been defeated. Which ordinary King could be his match?
“Fortunately we didn’t get ideas about the sacred liquid, otherwise we wouldn’t even know how we died.” The crowd felt fortunate in their hearts.
Ye Chu let out a light breath, calming the surging blood energy within him. Fighting Tan Chen had not been easy for him either. Tan Chen’s strength was naturally beyond question. After exchanging so many moves, his own blood energy was churning fiercely.
If not for the green lotus protecting him, Ye Chu would likely have truly lost this time.
“Outstanding talents are indeed extraordinary! I had to use my full strength to barely achieve victory!” Ye Chu sighed, thinking that he must be careful when encountering outstanding talents in the future. Otherwise he could easily capsize in a gutter.
Ji Die watched Ye Chu put the jade bottle back into his robes. She spoke indifferently, “Tan Chen is not inferior to you. He simply failed to use his weapon. Otherwise, his strength would be sufficient to double. Your defeat would have been only a matter of time.”
“His strength would double with a weapon?” Ye Chu’s heart skipped. He knew how terrifying doubling one’s strength was. That would truly surpass him by a considerable margin. But was Tan Chen truly that strong?
“You don’t believe it? Do not underestimate any outstanding talent. Had Tan Chen not overestimated himself this time, defeating him would not have been easy for you either.” Ji Die spoke indifferently.
Ye Chu believed this statement. Because if he had not blocked Tan Chen with the green lotus, then erupted with Sword Slaughter, he would absolutely have found it difficult to defeat Tan Chen.
“Defeating him was not easy for me, but he absolutely could not have defeated me either.” Ye Chu spoke indifferently, looking directly at Ji Die.
Ji Die looked at Ye Chu’s confident demeanour, and her heart was not calm either. The person who had once harboured improper intentions toward her and whom she had considered worthless, now appeared before her with such a dominant posture.
If Ye Chu had remained as he was back then, she would not have cared at all. Just as a person would not care if an ant cast a lewd gaze upon them. But now Ye Chu possessed strength that even startled her. This gave her a completely different feeling.
However, Ji Die then recalled that Ye Chu had once even harboured improper intentions toward Lin Shixin, that unparalleled beauty, and the emotions in her heart cooled somewhat.
Seeing Ji Die lost in thought in the distance, Ye Chu asked with puzzlement, “On the road of heavenly pride, how many outstanding talents are there?”
Having obtained Tan Chen’s blood, Ye Chu also wished to obtain the blood of other outstanding talents. Because this would be greatly beneficial to Xi Xi.
“I do not know. However, Tan Chen is considered a rising star among outstanding talents. His realm is considered low among them. If you dare to provoke other outstanding talents casually, defeating you would take no more than ten moves.” Ji Die spoke indifferently.
“Does that include you as well?” Ye Chu looked at Ji Die and asked.
“I would defeat you in fewer than ten moves!” Ji Die spoke indifferently. “If you don’t believe it, you may try!”
“Damn it!” Ye Chu cursed, not doubting Ji Die’s words. He knew clearly how demonic this woman was. He knew from the time he drugged her and it had no effect. Naturally Ye Chu would not seek a beating at this moment. Even if he truly wished to try, he would wait until he grew strong enough in the future. He had already lost face once before Ji Die. Ye Chu did not wish to be suppressed by her again.
“Remember your one-year agreement. I shall be waiting for you then. If you have the ability, you may attempt to complete what you failed to accomplish back then.” After speaking, Ji Die’s figure flickered, drifting away toward the distance.
“What one-year agreement!” Ye Chu shouted, seeing that Ji Die had reminded him several times. But by the time he finished shouting, Ji Die’s figure had already vanished.
Seeing this, Ye Chu shrugged helplessly. Thinking of Ji Die’s final words, Ye Chu found them strange. He wondered, could this woman be inviting him to attempt force again after one year?
Ye Chu’s face instantly flushed red. This woman was too bullying. How could she do this, how could she do this? He had merely failed once. Did she have to look down on his capability? Did she have to bring it up every single time? How was he supposed to face people after this?
What is most humiliating for a man? Failing even when using force, that is one such thing!
“She has already left. Why are you glaring in that direction?” Fatty emerged from the side, looking at Ye Chu with a grin. “That… I…”
Ye Chu turned to look at Fatty, seeing him twisting and fidgeting. Ye Chu frowned, “Spit it out!”

Special apology. Today’s first chapter update was eight thousand words, but effectively it was only one chapter. Thus the three chapters were extra, and everyone paid an additional twenty cents because of this. I wanted to revise it back, but it cannot be less than the previous eight thousand words, so I cannot modify it. Wuwu, begging everyone’s forgiveness. As for how to compensate, please set the terms yourselves. Special apology…
