Three days later, a green military vehicle drove into the city of Hai Dong.
The man driving was a crew cut fellow. His posture was straight and upright, and his whole body carried the strict self disciplined air of a soldier. Yet at this moment his chiselled face showed a trace of mockery.
“Instructor Zhang, how many times does this make that we have gone to pick up a new Blood Fiend instructor?”
The Blood Fiend instructors had been changed several times already, and it was always him and Instructor Zhang who went to collect them.
It was like flowing water for the Blood Fiend chief instructors, but iron cast for Instructor Zhang and him.
“Who knows how long this new instructor will last?”
“Little Wu, shut your mouth. This time is different. The new instructor was personally invited by General Su himself, and he is the chief instructor of our Jingnan Military Academy. In terms of rank, he is higher than me.” Instructor Zhang spoke slowly.
He looked to be in his forties, but the fierce and valiant aura around him was even stronger, with a real iron blood flavour to it.
One look and it was clear he was someone who had truly been on the battlefield.
“Instructor Zhang, I have to say I really do not understand. According to the information, this new Blood Fiend instructor is only in his early twenties. If General Su had not called you personally, I would not dare believe it.”
“You are telling me a young kid in his twenties can go and train those Blood Fiend guys?” Little Wu did not stay quiet. He and Instructor Zhang had a very good private relationship, so he did not mind at all.
“Ah.” Instructor Zhang also sighed.
How could he not feel surprised?
The other party was only in his early twenties. Many people at that age had just graduated from university, or if they started school late, they were still studying.
Letting such a person lead Blood Fiend?
Even he felt somewhat unconvinced. But this was an order from above, so what could he say?
“Instructor Zhang, tell me, a young man who has never been on the battlefield and would probably be scared even at the sight of blood, when he goes to Blood Fiend will he not be frightened into wetting his pants by those guys?” Little Wu laughed coldly.
“We can still speak nicely, but those Blood Fiend fellows are not so easy to talk to. If he really gets scared into wetting his pants, it will be a huge loss of face.” Little Wu smiled.
“Do not underestimate him too much. It is said he is a martial arts expert.” Instructor Zhang explained, though even he did not quite believe his own words.
“Martial arts expert?” Little Wu mocked.
“A martial arts expert in his twenties?”
“Fine, even if he is a martial arts expert, how high can his level be at just over twenty?”
“I am thirty five this year. I started practising martial arts with my grandfather from the age of five, later joined the Xingyi Sect and studied for a long time, then enlisted as an adult. But when I sparred with the previous Blood Fiend instructor, I could not even last one move.”
“So no matter how strong he is, how strong can he really be?” Little Wu smiled disdainfully.
“Actually there is another explanation for this matter.” Instructor Zhang suddenly spoke.
“That is, General Su has given up. Since Blood Fiend definitely cannot win against the Military Blade in this years competition, what is there to do?”
“Just casually find someone to take the blame. Find a young man who does not understand anything. Then even if they lose in the end, it is easier to save face. After all the instructor is just a young kid.” Instructor Zhang smiled.
Hearing Instructor Zhang put it this way, Little Wu thought about it and realised it was true.
If they lost like this, it could not be blamed on Su Lingchu or Blood Fiend. It could only be blamed on the instructor.
“If you put it that way, then I understand.” Little Wu showed an expression of sudden realisation.
“Alright, let us stop talking. We are almost there.” Instructor Zhang said.
“Wait, Little Wu, have you gone to the wrong place?” Instructor Zhang looked at the alley full of barber shops and could not help frowning.
“It is correct. This is the place.” Little Wu lowered his head to check the address again.
Instructor Zhang shook his head. The new Blood Fiend instructor actually lived in a place like this. If the Blood Fiend guys found out, they would probably rebel immediately.
Of course, Instructor Zhangs impression of Luo Chen instantly worsened.
After all he was supposedly the chief instructor of Jingnan Military Academy. Even if it was only in name, living in such a place would inevitably invite gossip.
“Instructor Zhang, how about I go and test him first?” Little Wu said eagerly.
“Forget it, do not get involved. Every time Blood Fiend gives the new instructor a welcome ceremony, and this time will be no different. We do not need to get involved. Let Blood Fiend handle it themselves.” Instructor Zhang frowned.
The two had just parked the car downstairs when Luo Chen came down from upstairs.
The moment they saw Luo Chen, Instructor Zhangs brows furrowed and he shook his head.
It definitely could not be this person.
Because Luo Chen was walking while peeling off a face mask.
This was one that Jiang Tongran had insisted on applying for him this morning.
“Little brother, let me ask, does Luo Chen, Mr Luo, live here?” Little Wu also asked.
“I am him. You were sent by Su Lingchu to pick me up, right?” Luo Chen casually threw the face mask into the nearby bin.
Little Wu frowned, then spoke again.
“Little brother, stop joking.”
What kind of joke was this? Although Little Wu was not some master, he had practised martial arts for many years. The young man in front of him, whether in his walking posture or his aura, did not look like someone who practised at all.
Instructor Zhang was equally surprised. The arms and hands of martial artists were different from ordinary people. If he had really trained, it would be obvious.
But this young man had light and unsteady steps, fair and delicate hands with not even a single callus. Most importantly, how could someone who had just put on a face mask be Luo Chen?
“I really am.” Luo Chen waved his hand.
“You really are?” Instructor Zhang suddenly felt some regret.
If he had known earlier he would not have come. Was this really the chief instructor of Jingnan Military Academy?
Was this really the Blood Fiend instructor?
This, this looked like an utterly ordinary young man.
If it was really him, he did not need to be that powerful, but at least he should look the part.
“Lets go.” Luo Chen pointed at the military vehicle.
“Uh, this, sorry, let me confirm again.” Instructor Zhang was unwilling to give up. He called Su Lingchu and only confirmed after the call.
Little Wu looked at Instructor Zhang expectantly. He of course did not hope it was Luo Chen either, but Instructor Zhang shook his head slightly.
“My apologies.” It was unclear whether Little Wus words were sincere or carried sarcasm.
Luo Chen did not bother about it anyway.
Little Wu and Instructor Zhang exchanged a glance. What they saw in each others eyes was complete disappointment.
Little Wu even felt that if someone like this could become chief instructor of Jingnan Military Academy and Blood Fiend instructor, then he himself could become Secretary General of the United Nations.
Along the way both men remained completely silent, their attitude towards Luo Chen extremely cold. They wanted to see exactly how Luo Chen would make a fool of himself once they arrived.
