ROTIV Chapter 69

Half an hour earlier!

As soon as Liu Yunhai left, Luo Chen’s phone rang.

Luo Chen looked and saw it was an unknown number, so he answered.

“Hello, are you Teacher Luo?” A cocky voice came from the other end.

“Who are you?” “Ye Shengtao, the boss of Tulip. Nothing else, just letting you know one thing. Keep your mouth shut and stay out of trouble, and you’ll be fine. But if you dare meddle or cause any problems, I don’t mind crippling one of your legs or whatever. Don’t think I’m bluffing. Go check my file in the archives and you’ll understand!” Then the caller hung up.

This was a phone call to threaten him. It was also a phone call to warn him.

And this young man was extremely arrogant.

Luo Chen stood up and went to the principal’s office.

He had files on every student in the class except for Ye Shengtao.

“You want Ye Shengtao’s file?” The principal looked very surprised.

“Teacher Luo, it’s better to avoid trouble. That Ye Shengtao is not an ordinary person. Perhaps you should just leave this matter alone.” The principal seemed reluctant to even mention Ye Shengtao.

But this only made Luo Chen more curious.

“Teacher Luo, you must have heard of the Ye family?” The principal gave a helpless smile.

“That boy is from the Ye family, so he’s quite troublesome!” The principal sighed.

“Fine, take a look at the file and you’ll understand.” In the end, the principal handed the file to Luo Chen.

Ye Shengtao, the boss of Class Three at Tulip High School. On his first day of enrolment, he led people in a gang fight outside school, resulting in three deaths and twelve injuries!

Yet he somehow escaped criminal responsibility by sheer luck.

The next day, he pushed a teacher down the stairs, breaking the teacher’s leg. Afterwards, the teacher claimed it was his own clumsiness and that Ye Shengtao had heroically saved him.

In the second month after enrolment, the school toilet mysteriously caught fire, but the school neither investigated nor dared to pursue it.

Soon after, he led people in a brawl with students from Tongzhou’s Third Experimental High School in the south of the city, injuring more than a dozen of them and sending them to hospital.

Police investigation later found the incident had nothing to do with Ye Shengtao, and witnesses claimed he was just passing by.

He confessed his feelings to a girl and was rejected, so he barged into the girls’ dormitory and even injured the dormitory supervisor.

The matter was privately settled afterwards, and no responsibility was pursued.

All of this happened on the same day.

At the end of the second month, he got into an argument in the canteen, injured five people, and that same day put laxatives in the canteen food, causing more than three hundred people to suffer diarrhoea. The school deliberately covered it up and never let it leak out.

On the first day of the third month, he quarrelled with someone, fought, and finally threw the classmate off the rooftop. Fortunately, the boy landed in a tree and survived, though he became disabled and had to drop out.

Afterwards, more than a hundred classmates testified that the boy had intended to jump and Ye Shengtao had tried to save him.

Then he broke into the principal’s office with a knife, injuring a teacher. In the end, the principal let the matter drop.

Luo Chen judged that he must have threatened the principal.

Finally, the principal compromised.

After that came truancy.

He was the type who would not even show up for the start of term.

For three years, he had skipped classes from the first year of senior high straight through to the third year, right up to near graduation.

In other words, he almost never appeared.

Looking at this file, Luo Chen finally understood why the school turned a blind eye to his absences.

Because keeping this guy in school was simply a disaster!

Or rather, he was a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment.

This guy had committed every kind of evil, yet somehow he always escaped punishment or managed to distance himself from the consequences.

He was no longer a student; he was basically a gangster.

“Teacher Luo, I advise you not to get involved in this matter. It’s for your own good, and for Tulip’s good too.” The principal tried to dissuade him again.

It was not that he did not want to deal with Ye Shengtao, but that Ye Shengtao was truly untouchable.

Moreover, the principal was strongly blocking Luo Chen from getting involved.

But Luo Chen just gave a faint smile.

Daring to call and threaten him?

Luo Chen said nothing more to the principal and simply walked out of the office.

Then he dialled Ye Zhengtian’s number.

Ye Zhengtian had been recovering during this period. When he heard Luo Chen was looking for him, he felt a bit surprised. Luo Chen even asked him to bring his third son along.

An hour later, Ye Zhengtian arrived, and so did his third son, Ye Ruhhu.

“Lord Luo!” Ye Ruhhu was extremely respectful and visibly excited towards Luo Chen. After all, Luo Chen had saved his life and, in a way, his father’s life too.

“Teacher.” Ye Shuangshuang nodded in greeting from the side.

“Mr Luo, what brings you to Tulip?” Ye Zhengtian was also curious.

“Just helping out with a small favour, protecting someone.” Luo Chen replied.

Ye Zhengtian understood immediately, because he had been the one to make the introduction in the first place.

“Heh, Lord Luo, my useless son is also at this school. I hope you can look after him a bit.” Ye Ruhhu laughed.

“I am now your son’s class teacher.” Luo Chen said it directly, without any further politeness.

“Oh, then”

“It’s about Shengtao?” Ye Zhengtian interrupted his son right away and instantly realised what was happening.

“We’ve troubled Mr Luo and caused you inconvenience. To think you even had to call us over in person.” Ye Zhengtian was already apologising.

With his experience, he naturally knew that if Luo Chen summoned him, it was definitely not good news.

Luo Chen said nothing. Instead, he made a call and put it on speaker.

“You bloody well dare call me again? You’d better not meddle. This is my last warning. Next time I’ll make you regret it. If you’re not convinced, come to Tianyu Internet Cafe and find me. I’ll be waiting anytime!” Then the other side hung up.

Ye Ruhhu instantly broke into a cold sweat, his face turning deathly pale.

Ye Ruhhu was considered a big shot in Tongzhou with a formidable reputation. Even Hong Biao, the underground king of Tongzhou, was his subordinate, which already said everything. Yet now he was sweating with fear.

Who was Luo Chen?

Did others not know? Did they not know either?

Forget his son—even his own father would not dare speak to Luo Chen like that, because the other party was Luo Chen!

“This little beast!” Ye Zhengtian raised his hand to slap Ye Ruhhu but was stopped by Luo Chen.

“Old sir, your injury hasn’t healed yet. Don’t get angry.”

“This little beast! Lord Luo, rest assured. I’ll drag this little beast in front of you right now. I want to see just how lawless he’s become!” Ye Ruhhu said hurriedly. In an instant, he felt that his son had caused huge trouble for him and for the entire Ye family.

To think he had dared threaten Luo Chen.

Was he looking for death?

How bloody arrogant could he get?

Even Ye Ruhhu was already breaking into a cold sweat for Ye Shengtao.

“Thank you, Lord Luo, for giving the Ye family this chance.” Ye Zhengtian exhaled slowly. Since Luo Chen had not taken action himself but had called them over, it meant he was at least giving them an opportunity.

Otherwise, if Luo Chen had really acted personally, Ye Shengtao would probably already be a corpse by now, and if things were pursued, the Ye family would suffer too.

“Let’s go together.” Luo Chen smiled, which scared another wave of cold sweat out of Ye Ruhhu.
